Default Stage 3 Wickerbill install

I know this is probably a pretty simple task but wanted to ask for those who have installed the gm stage 3 wickerbill on their z06

I currently have the stage 2 winglets on my z but plan on installing the stage 3 wickerbill.

I have the factory hardware and grommets but didn't know if there was anything special required to install?

thanks for help and advice

Use a little crazy glue to hold the grommets in place and obviously don't over torque it, I think I remember 12lb tq aka snug

The grommets are numbered 1-4. The numbers are very small and are imprinted on the grommets. Each numbered grommet goes in a specific position. You may have to refer to the instructions to see where each should be positioned.

I go back and forth between stage 1 and stage three. I do not recommend using superglue to hold the grommets in place. I use a drop of dielectric grease to hold in place until I get the screws in.

I bought this wickerbill from another member and the grommets aren't attached. Are they positioned in the slots on wickerbill and where screws go in?

why would you not use superglue to hold the grommets in place?

I use a very small amount (a couple of tiny dots) of clear silicone to hold them.

A buddy of mine used super glue on his grommets, upon closer inspection, I noticed a white residue that was due to excess super glue being squished out. Some owners have reported that the screws loosen up over time. You might consider a drop of blue Loc Tight on the threads of the screws.

Of course, if you use Lock Tite or Super Glue on the four screws it will be very hard if not impossible to adjust the height of the wickerbill later since the screws will be locked into the spoiler.

Loc Tight is known to outgas and cause cracking of some plastic. Tiny drop of clear nail polish has done the trick for me on other projects.

If it's the GM Wicker Bill, then here are the instructions. Also, Loctite, or equivalent, is already applied. Lastly, the grommets are attached to the GM piece. Use whatever you feel comfortable with to reattach.

Yup, that's another running change I noticed with my 2017 over my 2015. The earlier center wickerbills had the grommets loose but not the come somehow adhered to the plastic. Much easier install.

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread but I just bought the center wickerbill for my 19Z with Stage 2. I Bought this from GM as part of the performance aero package that also includes the larger front winglets. There were no separate “grommets”. Just the T20 screws. What exactly is the grommet that folks are referring to? Is it like a rubber washer or are we talking about the slot through which the Torx screws pass which on mine seemed to be part of the wickerbill itself.

I own a 19Z06 with the Visible Carbon Fiber Ground Effects Package. Waiting for delivery.

Does the wickerbill come with it?

Whether visible or carbon flash painted ground effects, the center wicker bill comes with the Z07 package and that along with the larger front winglets is what makes it "stage 3" vs stage 2 (someone will correct me if there's more to it). Mine is a non-Z07 Z06 so I bought those bits at the parts counter. It is offered as the "performance aero package".
