Hopefully the ZR1 will cater to a different audience.
1) Doesn't own one because he can't stand the other owners.
2) Hangs out constantly with other owners

Im 32 and take delivery of a 2017 Z soon, how's that for a demographic, do your own thing. id rather be lumped in with successful old guys than younger sisters and boy racers in a shelby gt350 that looks like a $25,000 entry level 2+2.

Ho-ho-ho...nice try.

Hopefully the ZR1 will cater to a different audience.
Let it go...I'm sure the ZR1 won't "cater" to your audience either.

Disgusted? Over a C7 Z "demographic"

But you'll fit in the C8 demos, right? That's a joke.

You're not ready today...and you won't be in 10 years either...because you're not serious about buying one, now or ever.

You're just wasting valuable bandwidth and OUR time here...

Dont worry he doesnt even own a Vette but brags he can afford to live in the bay area of California where he has better weather than other members who deal with snow. Then worries about demographics of vette owners.

How about the stingray shape and lt1/lt4 setups offer incredible performance at any budget. Even a Ferrari 488 isn't leaving a Z06 in the dust

So in demographic do you mean age, nationality or the guy that bought the car looked homeless? What does it even matter.

If you don't want to pay $100K+ then you will have an even longer wait to get a discounted/used C8. Now is a great time to get a good deal on a new or used C7 Z06. I know cause I just got a great deal on a used 2016 Z06 with 1300mi.

When you make your decision based solely on the demographic that you perceive to be buyers then you've obviously got some of your own issues to address.
It's also sort of comical to think there is going to be some big demographic shift from one trim level to the next.

Slightly off the direction of the thread...you guys have to admit some of the possibilities. Being thrown around with the rear mid engine c8 do look dam cool...

Had the c8 been a front engine corvette...or at least rumored to be...there is no question I'd be buying sooner but probably later a c7 z06....from my current c6 corvette....

Now ......I'm not so sure the c7 z06 is in the cards for me...I might skip a generation ...not because the c7 z06 isn't the coolest corvette ever produced...imo...but because I was thinking the mid engine c8 might be everything the corvette has been and a little different in that mid rear engine format...

Not a slamto the c7 z06 but rather after 40 years of driving...I'm remember back to my youth when I had a 1976 turbocharged Lancia Scorpion and as crazy as it sounds back in the day with probably 250 hp...it was a wild ride...and the turn in was fun..

Mid rear engine cars have a nice turn in...and they have a cool close view of the road from behind the wheel....(closer to the front bumper as you look out the windshield)

I test drove a couple of porsches and they offer that but I really don't want to leave the corvette brand forporsche...so I'm considering holding onto my current very analog corvette z51 m6 which has been utterly reliable since new...for a few more years...

I keep hearing how the automatic transmissions of today's corvettes are so much quicker than the manuals...but I'm just not ready to give up on driving a manual just yet....

I know I should move to an automatic because they are quicker both on a drag strip, the roads and road courses....on my next corvette...

I daily my purchased since new c6 and will with all my future corvettes...

My next will be my forth new one although as the prices of the c7 z06 continued to get near 80 90 or 100 grand msrp...I'm not adverse to buying pre owned...

So a 500 hP lt1 powered c8 with a dct mid rear engine does sound tempting...if I lost my present corvette tommorow I'd buy a c7 z06....

This question although used as troll bait does in fact have some interesting aspects to it...

Maybe I'm just making excuses to not spending the coin? I'm not exactly sure...but eventually I will...but man that mid rear engine sketch on the home page of this forum is pretty dam bad ***! Wow!

I do want a lift off roof though... I really get a lot of enjoyment driving all summer long with the roof off..

Presently approaching 107k miles on my present ride....this thing is ridiculously reliable!

So you are not a "Car Guy" because there is no single Demographic that purchases these cars. From Young to old, from those who can barely afford one to those who can afford several. Sounds like you came here to play games and cause trouble. Well, it didn't work. Goodbye and good luck finding a Demographic that you fit in with.

Just get the Z. The only mid engine that comes close is a v10 Audi R8 and a manual one is still 95k and still be 100hp short
