Default Cost to install Z06 side skirts

I recently ordered the Z06 side skirts from ACS repainted in carbon flash. I reached out to a local Chevy dealer and they quoted me 4 hours labor and $424.00 to install them on my car. The ACS website quotes 30-60 minutes to install and the process seems pretty straight forward so I do not see how 4 hours makes sense. Does this seem right?

Are there any recommendations for a place to go in Central Connecticut that would do a quality job at a lower price? I was thinking in the $200-250 range?

Thank you,

Michael

Hendricks Chevrolet in KC charged me $150 and did a great job. No way I would pay over $200.

Wow! 4 hours!?! I installed ACS skirts myself using Race Ramps in about an hour... taking my time. Certainly a dealership, with a lift, can easily perform the install in less than an hour. "This" is why I try to avoid them... and I don't have to worry about them breaking or damaging something.

Its too bad you don't live closer to WNY. I have done quite a few sets for my friends in my garage. Usually takes me about an hour to do a set of side skirts, and about 45 min to install a front splitter. Don't like to charge anything, but never say no to a case of beer or money for dinner.

Just installed the ACS Rockers this morning. Super easy with a jack and jack stands. Don't pay someone for something you could do yourself in less than 2 hours.

Hi Singray222,
Don't forget the State we live in,
I too have had my dealership(Fairfield Ct) overcharge me for every service or part I want put on.
They expect you to buy them at their retail dealer price and tax us to death to put them on. I'd take the other members advice put them on yourself or pay Connecticut prices.
Good luck,
Geo

My wife and I installed both sides in 30 min. Pucks in, Jack up one side to make it higher. Her and I held skirt up in place, one screw in front end, second in end. Then the rest. Simple. Repeat other side.

Stock height car doesn't even need to be jacked for the screws on the factory mounting locations.. only for the additional ones I had to slightly jack the car up. All by my self I did it in under 1.5hrs. Don't let the dealer rob you.

I took my RPI Designs body color painted side skirts to a local Chevrolet dealer's performance shop (Libertyville Chevrolet Performance Center) where manager Kevin Paddock installed them in about 30-40 minutes. DId not charge me for it as it was my first time using their services. But probably should have been about $100. I will be back for any performance upgrades that I plan to do. Great experience.--Bob

I did mine in my bay -next- to my lift, that's how much you don't need a lift. No race ramps, no jack stands, nothing.

When I went to put the front splitter on, then I put it on the ramp, but not for the skirts. Had I known I would have done the splitter first and then the skirts! But my point remains, you don't need a lift for the side skirts.

You guys didn't have an inner struggle about drilling the rockers? Use tape instead?

I can't imagine taking them off permanently so I wasn't worried. Not like I have any interest in going back and forth with and without them.

That said, you likely could use an industrial tape like 3M VHB, but the factory doesn't usually do extra steps like drilling holes and using rivets unless it's required. How much load (ie: downforce) is actually on these I don't know, but VHB is pretty strong when used correctly.

Thank you for all the replies. I ended up deciding to go with Automobilia out of New Haven. They have a great reputation. Fingers crossed all goes smoothly on Saturday when I bring the car in.
