....just like they say in your neck of the woods, Higgs...."you can lead a horse to water, but....".
Road force is worth every dime and the only way to go.

So road force will make a tire that doesn't vibrate not vibrate more? Wonder why they don't use it at the factory?

they don't use a lot of things "at the factory." $$$, cheap, time, mass production.... if cars were built how "we" wanted "we" probably couldn't afford them.

"the factory" is FAR from the gold standard of quality. more like the gold standard of "what can we get away with."

pretty much. compared to a lot of things they compete with they are quite cheaply made, interior is not great, etc. a million times better than C5 and C6 but vs 911s, McLarens, etc they are no prize.

however, I own a C7Z and not a 911 even though I could, I prefer outright power and hooliganism than what the 911 (or similar) offers, although it is fun to drive them once in a while, which I do.

I appreciate all things automotive but I buy powertrains.

I'll just add my two cents here. On one of my ZR-1 Corvettes with 245 and 315/17 (relatively inexpensive) Sumitomos, I had a vibration and had an experienced guy balance them the traditional way. Still had vibration so I went to a tire dealer with a Road Force balancer. He found that three of the tires needed to be rotated on the rim them properly balanced with less weight and that a fourth tire was manufactured so far out of balance that it could never be properly balanced. So I settled for just a little bit of vibration from that tires but an overall vastly improved situation. Very impressed with the equipment and the technician. Anyway, just my experience. If you go to the Hunter web page you can find any tire dealers or shops that have the Road Force equipment.

And as I read in in other posts, it seems that the shops that also have a Hunter Revolution tire mounting machine have better capability for mounting the Z06 tires. Unfortunately the Hunter website does not list Revolution equipped shop locations at this time. When it comes time for new tires on the Z06, though,I will be looking for a shop with both pieces of Hunter equipment and plenty of experience with Z06s. --Bob
