With the limited production of the new GT, I would actually expect the opposite to happen. Older GTs will go up as people snap them up cause they can't get a new one. Remember the new one is only building 1000 over 4 years (so far this is all that is confirmed). The old GT had 9000 or so units.

They did not. The XLR had its own line.
