I was really beginning to wonder what was going on with production...hadn't heard a thing in quite awhile.
Truly exotic in every way.

I wonder if the buying public will support a Porsche type/ multiple model structure with the Corvette. Certainly with the aging of the baby-boomers it's time for Corvette to make a change. The question is, will it be successful? I certainly hope so, even if I can't afford the C8, many just like me are still part of the Corvette nation. It's going to be interesting.

I can see them doing a mid engine halo car in the $150K range to replace the ZR-1 at maybe 5-6 thousand units per year. That said it would be stupid for GM to walk away from the core buyer that would stand in line for a RWD $60k car. I highly doubt the mid engine car will even be called the C8. I'm guessing it will have a classification all its own and be a stand alone model from the rear drive cars just in case it fails to find buyers.

I will probably be purchasing a C7 in 2020/21. The C8 will be to expensive, with only a paddle shift automatic and there has been no mention of a convertible.

It should be in addition to the current design.

that video is chock full of non sense. No way there going to keep two layouts and no way the car will be double the price. No reason a mid layout would demand more. look at the R8, NSX ect.. there barley double the price and your paying for the marquee name and looooow production numbers.

My salesman where I bought my 2016 C7 said the mid engine Corvette is definitely coming in either 2018 or 2019. He wasn't sure of the cost but he said that the car is coming.

I wonder how many guys here can tell stories of what their salesmen told them that turned out to be totally false.
