Not saying a Mid-Engine Sports Car/Vette/Cadillac would not be nice.
But, here's just a few of my thoughts/questions:
How many people that do a lot of traveling in the current Corvette platform, would buy a Mid-Engine Sports car.
How much space is in a front Storage area Mid-Engine Sports car.
How noisy is the interior with a Mid-Engine Sports car.

Your questions obviously can't be answered since we're speculating about a car no one knows anything about. However, I don't know why you think a rear/mid-engine car would be any noisier in the cabin than a front-engine car. Most of the engine noise in either design comes from the exhaust exiting the rear.
I've had a couple of rear/mid-engine cars in the past (Porsche and Lotus), and didn't find them to be noisier in the cabin than the C7.

I still think the mid-engine car is going to be some halo car to compete with the Ford GT. It would take GM years to get the bugs out of a completely new platform for the Corvette. They have a solid customer base now and a winning formula for the current car, which sells in very high numbers for a sports car. They aren't going to throw that away.

Lutz and Tadge are on record saying mid-engine adds $5k.
How much is a Porsche Boxster?
If GM makes the Corvette unaffordable, it will be due to greed.
If they price the Corvette anywhere near the 911, people will just buy a 911 instead.
The C7 should have launched with a mid engine layout.
The C8 will be mid engine.

Don't think I will be upgrading. I like my C7. Affordability will be the issue. Of course, I never thought I would ever purchase a C7.

the video talks about a true 50/50 weight distribution in a rear engine car. Like this is something new? The C5 had a 50-50 weight distribution engine cools in the front better. Rear engine cars always struggled to get air and cooling back in it what's the Corvette formula is not broke don't fix it

not again!
yet another GM attempt at a 2 seat caddy sports car? how many times before they finally learn their lesson.
For a homemade video that's very nicely done, excellent visually. It could use some editing though: Ford's new car is the GT not the F40; this premium mid-engine model should not be confused with the C8, C8 will be the affordable replacement for the C7 in 3-5 years; and finally, the mid-engine car is quite likely to come as a Cadillac, in which case "C"8 would be especially inappropriate.
It may be more than a coincidence that the two cars lapping Milford with the mid-engine mule are Cadillacs...(6:58 on the video)

I think it would be a mistake to make the C8 a more expensive model. Rather than spending all the money on tooling and a 2nd line for another car, they should just make the jump to mid-engine, and work on keeping costs down so it can be priced near the current C7. If they overprice it, it will end up with the same fate as the Viper.

Having owned a Corvair in college I can tell you front storage space will not be an issue (unless you want to transport a large article that will not allow the trunk lid to close). Thinking that available storage space will be considerably greater than todays C7 coupe. As for engine noise; super soundproofing will isolate any unwanted noise.

If you look at every mid-engined or rear engined car built today, none have more than 8 cu.ft. of storage space in front (Porsche 918 is 5.9 Cu.Ft. Acura NSX is 4 cu.ft., Ferrari 488 is 7 cu.ft. - which is less than 1/2 of what a C7 has. Some, like the new Ford GT have none.

I am not sure how you compare a Corvair to a modern mid-engined car????

I am sure the new mid-engine Vette will be similar to the Porsche 981.
It's a sports car, not a 4 door luxury sedan like my 2017 Genesis G80 with 15 CuFt of storage in the trunk compartment.
