More of the same speculation, interesting to see how much of it actually is true.
But thanks for sharing at least it was a well done video.

Pretty much the standard, "This will be the C8" speculation we've all heard before. Nothing much new here.

If the C8 comes out two years from now, I suppose I should be glad that I ordered my new 2017 now. Ain't no way I could afford DOUBLE THE PRICE for a Stingray.
I could definitely see GM selling the new C8 alongside the "budget" C7 for a year or two. Heck; they did it with the Silverado for at least two different generations.

The intent of Post#1 was not to beat a dead horse, but to present a video that perhaps many had not seen.
Much of the conversation in the video makes sense.
Everyone needs to keep an "open mind" for what GM may be trying to achieve.
It will be a test of time to see what GM actually does. The C8 speculation will not die out quickly. The talk of the mid-engine will remain alive and well for some time to come.

Talk of a mid-engine Vette has been alive and well for several decades.

If they actually come out with a mid engine car, I still think it will be a Caddy. Regardless, it's gonna be a Ford GT level high dollar car that the average Vette buyer won't be able to afford.

Can I get my click back?
The media always knows things, but even when they know what they know they never deduce the right answer. Maybe this is on purpose, as I think the truth is much more boring and doesn't make for splashy headlines.

Spoke to a GM engineer today. I was told two years, twice as expensive as the current model, and that it would be much faster than the C7. That is all I could get though. I have to think they are looking at two models given the price increase would be sad.

I had not seen that video before.

Just a guy who made a vid. Most of it made sense however except for the price point. Ford needs to get $400,000 for it's car but by some miracle chevys gonna build a competitor for under 2? Actually I see a mid engine possible at $200,000 because as I've stated before, I think the mid engine vette will be UNDER or equal performance wise to the Z being produced for the same year. It will be built to satisfy the "manicure " crowd.

Please, oh please, if there is a Corvette god, keep the tail lights, just to **** off all the haters out there.
GM needs to keep front engine/rear drive alive, build a mid engine car and call it whatever they want, fill your boots but they need to keep the current recipe alive and well in order to be successful IMO.

For a homemade video that's very nicely done, excellent visually. It could use some editing though: Ford's new car is the GT not the F40; this premium mid-engine model should not be confused with the C8, C8 will be the affordable replacement for the C7 in 3-5 years; and finally, the mid-engine car is quite likely to come as a Cadillac, in which case "C"8 would be especially inappropriate.
It may be more than a coincidence that the two cars lapping Milford with the mid-engine mule are Cadillacs...(6:58 on the video)

And, the first production Ford GT just rolled off the assembly line. I do love it.
