Still a few years out... I'm sure that they'll get it right.

You can't deny the fact that the C6 ZO6 has clean lines and a classic shape, while the C7 is EXTREMELY busy.
We all know that some car designs stand the test of time and are classic, while others simply don't, and aren't.
C2 vs C4 for example.
The C6 is a refinement of the C5, and both a timeless and classic design.
The C7 is neither.
But, we will have to all agree that only time will tell.

More of a grey area....not really Black & White....
Or is it?

One thing is true...I do not agree with your opinion regarding the C7. And that is okay.

Actually, an opinion is what one can definitely say doesn't make sense. It is unlikely that you would think my opinion regarding the C7 over the C6 makes sense. To you, it doesn't make sense. Factual statements are sensible statements. Opinions are not necessarily so.

Styling is a matter of opinion.
Engineering, cost, and performance are empirical, and not opinion.

I thought Tom Peters designed the C6, not the C7...

Yes indeed.
From the GM Corporate Newsroom:
"Peters worked briefly at GM following his 1980 graduation from the college and returned in 1982 after two years with Texas Instruments. His portfolio includes memorable concepts such as the Corvette Indy show car, Pontiac Banshee, Cadillac Sixteen and Buick Velite; as well as production vehicles such as the Corvette C6 and C7, current-generation Camaro, and the new full-size pickup trucks and SUVs from Chevrolet and GMC."

I waited till the c6 ran its course before I bought a Corvette. The round shape was done when the c6 was released IMO. You look at the other super cars of 2005. The c6 was just dated when it came out.

IMO the difference in externals between the C6 and the C7 is really incremental and minor, not really enough to write home about. I mean, really: BFD. But internally, Yowzaa! FINALLY! An interior you can brag about rather than be embarrassed about, something you WANT to be in rather than be endured. A Cadillac quality interior (Yes, I have a CTS VSport) in a Corvette. Who would have thought?

GM can really knock it out of the park sometimes. I was really impressed by the Cadillac Escala at the LA Auto Show. Not the same design language you would use on a Corvette, but stunning for a luxury sedan.
They need to focus first on getting the proportions right. If that's not right, there's nothing they can do to make it pretty.

the nose of my C6 is laughable compared to my C7.. the rear? boring on the C6.. exotic on the C7... the roof design and rear hatch on my C6? classic.. C7? groundbreaking.
Sorry guy, i've owned them both and i'll agree with you in this regard... the C6 is "classic" as in boring, safe and timeless..
The C7 is EXCITEMENT and energetic. I sit in my garage and stare at my C7.. barely ever did that for the C6.. and we won't even attempt to dissect the interiors of both.. that's a non starter...

The Aztek was originally suppose to be a new platform. When the bean counters forced the team to utilize the minivan platform, they sent the vehicle into FUGLYville.

The Aztec as Peters originally drew it was a very neat design. And then the bean counters came and poor Tom Peters fell on the sword for the company. I will say this about the C6 (I had 2 of them). When it came out, I thought it was great looking. That said, I think the design aged quickly and by 2008, it was kind of stale....IMHO. The C7, at 3 years old, is still very new looking, and is aging nicely....again, IMHO
In keeping with this thread, I tried not to be so black and white
