No NAV, no screens, no BS; just a badass McIntosh, some lusty toggle switches and a man's man shifter.

I want to drive, not buy another complicated, distracting electronic gizmo. Seriously, if its got a dumbass touch screen in it, I don't want it.

Oh, and I want a manual parking brake and a damned door handle attached to a cable too while you're at it.
yes to all above. I want a real door handle , a real dashboard not that cartoon looking crap. And I don't want displacement on demand or stop start technology.

I had a rental malibu and the dash on that with the cartoon crap was almost identical in look and feel to the c7. Drove the car 400 miles over 3 days never got used to it. And the start stop technology was horrible. I was in traffic and the car smelled like it was loading up on fuel with gas fumes. Gm has gone backwards. The new designs are not better.

Get interior room back to C6 level (my C7 is definitely tighter inside than my C6's were)

True DCT (8 speed) with aluminum paddles, active aero, narrow A-pillars, spider with rear glass that can be raised and lowered like side glass, PDR, <47" OAH, 1/4 mile in <10.7, shorter than C7...

i'd like to see a DCT as well and some active aero. I'd be fine with AWD as long as it's no more the 125 pound addition and in track mode it's basically a RWD car. Which all seems doable.

I'd like to see something that allows the car to access steep driveways, steep parking entrances, what have you, without pulling off the front spoiler.

Great idea! We need a push button solution to clear driveways. This means GM can also build a lot more downforce at the front of the car by using extended splitters.

I would like the electronics to be on a par with my wife's KIA Sorento SXL! Much better NAV, sound system, and things like lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, 360 degree camera view, Apple car Play and their own system which monitors car and send parking GPS to your phone. GM has all these things so why not put them on the Vette?

A bit more headroom (1" or greater) than the C7.

A front mid-engine layout. It's not Chevy's job to go after Audi's rear mid-engined R8; that's Cadillac's job.

Great post covering everything (& then some) I'd hope for in a C8. Curious about the manual parking brake vs. current electric/ mechanical. What's the argument favoring the manual, i.e. is it a preference, or is there a benefit/ advantage too? (simply curious)

I think you'll have the option of either one. I just don't see them abandoning a very popular item

1) Great styling and proportions.
2) Cross-plane crank V8 (hate the sound and vibration of flat crank engines). GM V8's are GM's competitive strength.
3) Manual transmission.
4) Well tuned exhaust with a nice rumble.
5) Affordable pricing.

Michael

A removable top option that is canvas and the frame folks up. The idea is that you can remove a lightweight top, store it in car while still having room for some luggage. And the top can be installed when the weather turns.
Or an electric target top.

Manual transmission option. Porsche had to learn the hard way after removing the manual option from the GT3. Customers screamed and now the new 991.2 GT3 will be available with a manual. I am sure corvette will offer a manual.

Also, a true fixed roof coupe design (removal of the current b-pillar design.)

Somethings are too advanced. Trying to use the new advanced info-tainment at 70 is just plain dangerous...

While sitting in my truck I watched at 50 mph a young female sideswipe another car while playing with the screen.

I was behind her.. and slowed quickly as she drifted into the other car. I guess his blind spot light didn't matter or warn him ... .

I would also like strakes for the diffuser - prolly doesn't do anything on a street car but it looks cool, and a track package that includes anchors for a roll bar, 5 point seat belts and a fire extinguisher bracket.

Oh ya & more carbon fiber

Dynamic Ride Height and variable Aero spoilers. = more stick in the corners and less drag on the straights.

And how about directing excess heat to the tires to make them stickier!

Enough safety electronics to allow the issue of a license to legally drive the car at insane speed when conditions allow. Said another way, a technical solution that legally eliminates speed limits and replaces them with road condition controls. Pat
