You might want to try a local mobile locksmith that can program remotes. I found one near me when a key fob for my wife's Denali was acting up. I had one that worked fine and when we were talking he hooked up a device to the Denali and told me that he programs key fobs for people who have no key fobs with that device. All they have to do is provide him with proof of ownership and a state issued driver's license. He told me there is a remote programming board in every car that his device uses to program the fob. You can buy key fobs for the C8 on eBay for $30. The mobile locksmith charged me $125.
Good luck!

A couple of guys have a video on this - they bought a salvaged C8 with no key - had to go to dealer. Go to YouTube and search "Goonzquad". Look at the playlist and look for a rapid blue C8 - they covered it in about 5 videos.

Some good replies here but a lot of ignorant idiots also. Anyone who builds salvage cars runs into this all the time. If you don't have full access to Techline Connect your best option is to trailer it to a dealer. If you have previous owner info it possible you could get a fob from them if they have one and are willing to help. You might be surprised reaching out to a previous owner. I've had good luck doing that and some are more than willing to help with someone trying to rebuild their wreck.

Fast Dawg's post above: I didn't know that (relatively) ordinary locksmiths had the ability to do this work. WADR that means the C8 (and probably extends to any car made today) has at least one non-dealer possibility of being key-fob programmed, or reprogrammed by an indie person, working outside of the mfr./dealership. Swell, in some cases.

Burning Brakes
If the engine isnt running your not pushing the car unless someone was able to disconnect the dct. The transmission cannot be put in neutral unless the engine is running. Dragging not a good idea for read diff- try to put dollies or skids under the tires

Just an FYI, a FOB which has already been programmed to a C8 cannot be reprogrammed to another car. I was able to secure a third FOB, tried to program it myself (Following instructions from the manual, didn't work) then brought it to the dealer and was told, "No Dice". Also, I spoke with Josh Holder at Carlisle last year and was told the same thing. Pay the price for a "virgin" FOB.
