Default Official times: 1/4 mile @ 10.6 | 0-60 time of 2.6 seconds

Not sure the trap but official published time of 10.6 - honestly this was the worst of what I thought it would be. I was hoping for a 10.3 published time from GM.

FWIW, 10.6 @ 134 mph is the published time from GM for the C7 ZR1.

Don’t recall GM ever doing this.
Can’t see them starting now.

Well.....it's three tenths quicker than the previous Z06.....with 20 more horsepower. That makes sense to me. Not to mention, there will be hero runs around 10.30s. They said that this car is moving pretty hard at top rpms. Probably between 132 and 134 trap speeds. Just not enough concrete information for the quarter mile except for this. Hero run for the stock C7 Z06 is 10.22@134. So I personally believe there is more room for this car being at 670 hp

10.3s will be the norm once folks get involved…. C8 in 2.8 and ZO6 at 2.8 ells me ZO6 will be in 10.3s. Matter of fact I think the 2.6 is conservative, probably more like 2.475. Imo.

A time of 10.3 would place the C8 ZO6 in the Porsche Turbo S category. Don't forget the ZO6 was designed as a worthy competitor on tracks, and a force to be reckoned with on the street. The Turbo S is a fine vehicle on the street however, it's prowess on the track leaves a lot to be desired. If, memory serves the C7 Grand Sport finished 1/10 of a second behind the Turbo S on track. Don't worry. The Big Nasty will be epic!

3rd gear is 1.22:1 and will top out at 104 mph.
4th gear is 0.88:1, tops out at 144 mph.

Not exactly ideal for the 1/4.

You do realize it's got a 5.56 drive. 4th should still be steep. 112 in the Stingray is the top of 4th.

GM hasn't done a ton of things since developing and introducing the C8.

I think it's safe to say that GM has evolved into something we're not accustomed to.

They're going to understate it with an easy to achieve time so they don't get sued for false advertising... People sue over everything now... Either way... It's not a drag car and it's quicker and traps faster than my Gen 5 Viper so I'm pleased. I'm sure it will get your heart pumping with those 8,600 rpm shifts. They need to save something for the ZR1.

Exactly.

Like if their test driver was able to run a super fast time of 10.2, you think they're going to advertise that? No way. Because you get a couple of people who buy them, try out that time and do a 10.6-10.7, then they say a 10.2 is impossible.

Same thing with the stingray 2.8 0-60. And when people got their stingrays they were doing it in 2.4-2.6.

I think a 10.6 is a safety net for the average buyer. I'm sure it'll be quicker in the real world. I'm guessing 10.4.

And like you said, and like i said MONTHS AGO, they're saving all the faster stuff for the ZR1.

Tarantula, Sorry for leaving out the track. It was the 2017 Lightning lap results that the Turbo S was 1 second faster than the C7 Grand Sport. 2:46 vice 2:47. What made it so interesting at the time was the cost of the Grand Sport was $66,000.00.

So are we assuming those times are with the Z07 package, carbon wheels and Cup 2 R’s?

I was assuming it was without but I do hope I'm wrong.

Yep, here’s a calculator from Tremec, and the gear specs. The higher rpm redline pushes the top speed of each gear up.
