Agreed - AO is so much better on this car than Sebring. Just get Torch Red if you like Sebring - they look the same unless you are in bright light. AO ALWAYS looks bright orange. I am really going to miss AO (had it on my C8 stingray). I have a 2024 Z06 in Carbon Flash coming - so it was only a 2 year color if you include the Anniversary package.

A subtle metallic and it would have been a really nice color IMO.

I’d be surprised, and a bit disappointed, if all they added were the three colors shown at the Bash with all these cuts.

I agree, but it had a good run. I've had 2 C8's that color and love it. I do kind of wish my current one was seawolf, but wasn't worth the extra money it would have been to delay my order. I can get a wrap for cheaper.

And that brings up a good point- you guys are not limited to GM's colors- now days it is pretty easy to get a wrap on any car and completely change things up!

I was worried about getting a MY24 because i heard CMG was being discontinued but it looks like it's gone for MY25.

I'm happy i'm able to have gotten my CMG. Had i not gotten CMG i would've done torch red. Which will always be available lol

Crazy talk... AO is very muddy in certain lights. Sebring is the better of the two. My friend's C7Z next to one of my past C8s. You can see a TR C6 on the end... nothing alike.



I agree w/ this.... feel the same about rapid blue. Add metallic and it'd be truly perfect.

Hypersonic is really green in a lot of lights. Once I noticed the green I stopped liking it.

Yellow is being replaced by a real yellow. That's a good thing.

Let's get an acid or bright green

let's add chalk which would be a nice color for the silverish/neutral crowd

Replace Rapid blue with Miami blue

I like the new yellow.

Why not blend the oranges together to get an orange from the likes of the exotic brands, a true medium bright orange in all lighting.


GM is the worst company when it comes to colors. They are boring, dated, and just unoriginal and lack effort.

On AO - in photos I agree with you. I was so worried it would look like I had seen in some photos. It never looked like that in person, to me at least. It is very hard to photograph, especially in the sun.

I have had 3 C8s in Rapid Blue from 2020-2024. Loved them all and got great comments on the color contrast with black trim pieces. When I finally could order a Z06, it made no sense to order another Rapid Blue. So, I picked Cacti Green. I think it is special and now know it is since this is a retired color for 2025. That makes it even more special. I am very pleased with it.

Cacti looked horrible on the visualizer and samples. It looks okay in person. Better than I expected. However, it is still mind boggling how that made it past all levels of approval at GM.
I would argue that anyone on this forum could have picked a new color for the C8 and gotten a take rate well above 2.1%.
Maybe this is unfair but the top design person and that Harlan guy are both current/former shoe designers.

There are some interesting videos out there on color science and design and why designers pick certain colors. They're also looking at future trends so the colors aren't stale by the time they reach market. Earthy tones are "in" right now, but IMO they don't work on a sports car. Cacti and Artemis seem clearly picked for the "green" eRay spin. Cacti and the root beer brown color have been my two disliked colors. Zeus Bronze on the 2020s was actually a great color in person.

No one orders the color because it is (per average opinion) a sh*t color. Then, since nobody wanted it, they only make a few. In the future - people want it because only a few were made.

We're all kind of stupid as a whole.

I give them no more than 2 years before they bring back a silver color. Probably Blade Silver, which was the best IMHO. I thought swapping Blade Silver for Silver Flare was a mistake.
