GM Canada finally offers a "1LT" C6!
Since the C6 came out in 2005 our friends to the south have enjoyed three trim levels on the C6, 1LT, 2LT and 3LT (and they added 4LT in 2008 that's the fancy interior package), while GM Canada forced us with our base model having all the 3LT options, plus the higher price tag to go along with it. Finally for 2009 GM Canada has realized that some of us up here might want to save almost $6100 on the price of a new Corvette!
So that is why the new base price of an 09 coupe up here is $63,795. That's the price of the new 1SA trim level up here, which is roughly the same as the 1LT package in the US, but up here they do add the 7 speaker Bose system (the Bose is only on the 3LT and 4LT down there)
If you prefer your Corvette to come with a few extras, the 1SB package for almost $6100 gives you the following things:
Heads Up Display
Side airbags
Power passenger seat
Heated seats
Memory Package
Cargo Net and Luggage Shade
Power Telescoping steering column
Universal Home Remote
Bluetooth
The 1SA package will save you about 60 pounds off the weight of the car, although it forces you to choose nothing but the black interior (so you can't get any of the two tones, nor can you get titanium or cashmere), plus you cannot add Navigation on a 1SA car either.
Keep in mind, $63,795 is just the sticker price too, I'm sure an aggressive high volume dealer like Wilson Niblett would knock at least $10,000 off that price too. So you could most likely get into a new 09 coupe for just under $54,000! That's not as good as the dealers in the US that are selling them for mid to low 40s, but keep in mind our dollar is starting to tank right now too, so buying from the US isn't quite the deal as it was when our dollar was much closer to par.

Not Sure is 1ZL (I think) was offered on the Z06 last year for Canadian Z06's. This past weekend saw a 09 Z06 at the dealership with 1ZL with MSRP of $93K. Had the $495 spider grey wheels and it went perfect with the Cyber grey. Gorgeous car IMHO! YOu're right Patman, this package takes ~$6K off and leaves you with the basics and most important.....POWER

GM of Canada
GM of Canada also has finally started hosting 2009 Corvette information and dealer search information on it's web site. The Z06 and ZR1 are listed together but you won't see any of the latter listed.
Doesn't appear to be any $9,000 discounts any more either. $16,000 more for the same car ain't gonna fly...

GM Canada's website has shown that search information for a few years now, but it's very incomplete. For one, it will only do a search to a maximum of 25 cars, so if there are a lot of dealers close to your postal code, it won't show you everything that is available to you. Plus it's brutally slow! I've been checking that section for a few years now and it hasn't gotten any quicker, everytime you click on a car to see a more detailed list of it's options, it takes about a minute or two for the site to actually give you that info.

Hopefully this $6k drop in the base price is enough to stir up more sales in Canada! C6 sales have been dropping steadily each year up here.

Appreciate you taking the time to post the info, but thanks for nothing GM Canada! They haven't reduced the price of the cars at all?
A 1LT lists for $46 in the States, and you can pick one up any day of the week for about $40K US or better (3LT adds about $3K). That translates to $47K Canadian at today's rate of 1.19, Why is there still such a huge difference in price?
Had the dollar not tanked this week due to everyone rushing out of the market into the US dollar, the delta would be much larger...
We are being shouldered with carrying the expense of the GM Canada sales organization. It is a redundant dinosaur that adds an unnecessary burden to the cost of every single GM car sold in his country. Get rid of it GM, and gain customers!
