**2008 Mosport Children's Make A Wish Day Pics**
Great day yesterday for this, the weather was perfect, and there were many awesome cars there to go for rides in. This year they did it a little different, there was a line to ride in the street cars, and a line to ride in the race cars.....I went for my two rides in the race cars! My first ride was in the red Acura, and my second ride was in the orange BMW. These guys don't hold back if you tell them not to....I can gaurantee you it is more terrifiying than any amusment park ride you have ever been on!!!!!
Here are some pics from yesterday:

Some more pics, first the forum group shot, and then some new gratuitous 7t2vette shots! The last one has a few videos to go with it, which should be up soon!
I am surprised more people don't come out for this event......Mosport is such a fast track, and getting a chance to go around it at full tilt is amazing, not to mention that the money goes towards the Children's Make A Wish Foundation.
See ya next year!

Nice pics Bruce, what speeds did you get up to?
Hey Alex, how was the GT40 ride? I guess no ZR1's there? That's the one I'd have ridden in.
Wish I'd came, MB was sick yesterday, stayed at home

When I was in the Acura, we were somewhere over 220kmh on the back straight, but I don't know for sure because the speedo was partially obstructed from my view, the BMW had no speedo!!

i went in that silver BMW race car in your pic and top speed was about 200-210kph, but he was not slowing down for turns! and GT3 RS top speed was 245kph.
awesome event, ill go again. the dude there was saying they are going to sell premium and reg tickets next year, for high end cars and regular cars, that should solve some line up problems.

ps. nice meeting you guys. cant wait to do some laps around mosport with some vettes.

Great pics and another great day at Mosport! My young lad and his friend had a blast! They were both able to ride in Porches and from what they told me, these guy's were pushing it!! They loved every second.
Thanks again for everyone that participated in this great event and allowed us, the general public to ride in your race cars.
Next year, I am going for a spin for sure! .........Swerve
(P.S. Bruce, I had no idea that was you in the 72 Vette, we were parked right be side you when you first arrived. Dale Irvin from DNGS. Thanks for posting this on the bulletin board, I seen a few folks from work so I know the word is getting out)

Great day, Ryan, my 16 year old and I both went in the Audi at different times of course. I could not see the speedo but I was amazed how fast it went through the corners. Slicks sure help I guess.
Corner two we puled over a little and the Ferrari 360 went by like we were standing still.

That ford gt was quite a ride. When i got in i told the driver that i had been to a few lapping days before and to feel free to give her hell. Coming out of the pits going into turn 2 we were already doing 100mph. The owner said that some engine work had been done and was over 700 hp. although it was hard to see the speedo because it's on an angle facing the driver, I was sure i saw the needle approaching 180mph before breaking at the end of the Mario Andretti straight The car felt very stable even at the high speeds.

Ya after having being cold and rainy the last two years this was by far the best yet. The biggest crowd for sure and the best lineup of cars. How much fun can you have for a $25 dontation?? It probably cost more than that per lap for some of these cars.
This year had more pure race cars than ever, I we took full advantage of them.
Even had my neighbour come out with his brand new F430,,
The line up was well worth the wait
My first ride was in the Jagermeister BMW,, incredibly fast 4 cylinder
My second ride was with John from APEX,, whoa man 175kph through turn 1,, that will get your attention,, phenomenal braking.
This was one sweet sounding Ferrari

You're not kidding! Like I already said, going around the track with a pro is way more thrilling than any amusment park ride!!
Remember this pic from my earlier post?
Here is the video from the Mosport skidpad area, I think something is wrong with my traction control! The video guy thought I was done after the burn out, he missed most of the donuts I did, then filmed again:

Children's Wish video
This video was shot with my pocket P&S camera, so it's not the best quality. Any issues viewing the video please let me know.

btw 180 on the backstraight that would be a little high. that translates to 290 kph. The LMP 2 cars hit 280.
