Mosport ALMS Corvette Corral Roll Call
Corvette Corral
ALMS race at Mosport
August 26-29, 2010
August 26-29, 2010
The Mosport Corvette Corral for the ALMS race is a special VIP Hospitality package that includes 4-day admission, a private chalet with trackside (Turn 8) hospitality, and exclusive reserved parking for Corvettes. The Corvette Corral provides an opportunity for owners of Corvettes to socialize with trackside hospitality services, a private grandstand and a catered bar-b-q lunch on Sunday. Aside from offering reserved parking for the participants' Corvettes, Corral ticket holders will enjoy many other amenities including race programs, lanyards and credential holders, as well as the opportunity to participate in a parade lap around Mosport’s famous 4-km. circuit track on Sunday. In addition to being eligible for prize drawings, car corral participants can also interact with factory reps during tech talks, racing personalities (i.e. auto industry engineers and designers) and the C6R Factory Racing drivers during their driver appearance and private autograph session and take part in the Celebrity Judged car show. All this for $100 Canadian.
In order for the track to reserve the correct size of tent, they need a head count. So, if you haven’t purchased your tickets, now’s the time to do so.
Mosport will be the only Canadian stop for the Corvette Factory Racing Team. So we should show them that the Canadian fans love them and fill our Corvette Corral to capacity. As we have American friends joining us, we also want to show off our great Canadian hospitality.
Racing for the Grand Prix of Mosport includes the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear, Mazda MX-5 Cup, and the Cooper Prototype Lites. Canada's top sedan racers return to Mosport for the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship. There is also an Open Grid Walk prior to the American LeMans race. What a full racing card.
Tickets are on sale on-line at www.mosport.com or by calling Jen at the track at 800-866-1072.

The track only sells a weekend ticket and it is the same price for driver/passenger ... $100 for the Corvette Corral including bbq lunch on Sunday.

How LATE can tickets be bought? ie: week before? day before? day of?? I'd love to make it, but have a "scheduling conflict" I'd need to work out in order to go .
Would be nice to join you guys in the Corral this year, since I finally have a car that qualifies .

I want in! Finally an event where I don't have a conflict!
Are there other parking options for the vette wannabes where I can park my 'baby vette'? Anyone want to offer up a passenger seat for the parade lap? [I'm kind of assuming here that the vette parking and parade lap are a visual show of support of the Corvette Factory Racing, so my Sky would be out of place in that context.]
Or, maybe one of the Patron girls needs a parade vehicle & driver?

To clarify:
The Corvette Corral is a weekend ticket, one price $100. There are no single day tickets for the Corral.
There is parking nearby for steel cars. We always find a right hand seat for the parade lap for those who don't have a corvette. The parade lap is to give participants a overview of what the drivers are going to see when they go racing.
The earlier participants purchase their tickets, the better idea the track has on what size tent is needed to accommodate everyone and #s for the caterers.

The flyer states that space is limited. My best guess is the week of the event. As I’m just back from Limerock & Mid-Ohio, I don’t know how ticket sales are going.
I’ll update at time/information allows. I’m trying to keep the roll call up-to-date.

Ticket ordered -- please add me to the list. Thanks, Roy.
P.S. Despite all the logos to the contrary, the ticket web site is not currently secure as of this morning (check your browser lock icon). Credit card information is being transmitted unencrypted. I called 905-983-9141 and they were able to process my order. For those who have already ordered on-line, keep an eye on your statement.

FYI, this issue that I raised (and was subsequently confirmed by NOCRISIS) is only an issue if someone is watching at the very second you submit your information. It has nothing to do with how your information is stored on the server or handled thereafter.
Really, it's no different than someone wire tapping your phone -- they have to be tapping at the right time to "steal" your information. Only with computer transactions, "wire tapping" thousands of conversations at once is easier, that's all.
Just be aware that your bank and credit card company will always tell you to look for the lock symbol on your browser (and for good reason) before submitting your account number on-line. Unfortunate for Mosport it seems their web provider has not implemented it (or forgot to put it back on after changing servers, etc.). Hopefully it gets resolved soon.
