Will we be seeing you on TV sitting right up by the stage buying big buck toys?

Only going to snoop, wish I could buy something. If you didn't know they sell everything at the Barret; you could even buy mattresses, which surprised me! It's a great time!

I hate the fact that Barret Jackson even exists...love the auction but hate it at the same time. Since this show started every putz with a rusty piece of junk in his backyard thinks his car is worth $300K and the restored cars are worth $1.2 million. It's why I didn't go back to find and restore a 69 Camaro again like I did 20 years ago. Would love a muscle car but just can't justify the investment vs the returns. Muscle cars have gotten out of reach of the average guy. Kind of like leaf tickets...another thing I dislike

While I think that the price of some cars has gone pretty high based on their rarity there are lots of cars that are priced less than a new DD and in great shape and great to drive. If you're looking at a mint over-restored car at BJ then it'll cost but it's still cheaper than doing a car to that level yourself (if you pay someone to do it).

One good thing out of the auction publicity is that lots of cars get restored and saved when they would have been crushed if there was no market which would have made the remaining cars worth even more.

It's all supply and demand at the end of the day. If nobody paid the prices they would fall, kinda like people paying stupid money for Leaf tickets when they've sucked forever (great for the Leafs bottom line though).

I agree. But its bitter sweet. With any luck my L69 F body will be worth 20gs in 5 years!

C'mon barret jackson! Sell some sexy f-bodys! lol

On a side note, I came accross an all original (except for the paint, tires and brakes and exhaust) numbers matching 67 camaro RS with a 350. Buddy wants 10gs. I know 7.5 will take it for a fact. I just wish I had some place to put it, it would be an xmas gift to myself! lol

Went last year to Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale. What a blast!! Did the show on Thursday, least busy day and you will probably see everything under the main tent. Saturday is a mob scene, all the lear jets fly in for the big buck auctions and ten times more people.
Also, there are other auctions going on at the same time such as Russo and Steele, RM, and Gooding. Make a trip over to Penske auto mall and museum. And then stop at the Bev Mo, it's like a candy store for for booze.

Knocked the SEMA Show off the bucket list this year.
Barret-Jackson Scottsdale still sits high up on the list.

All of us going should hook up down there for a couplea cocktails and maybe dins. We have rented a condo for a couplea weeks in Scottsdale (10-24) and I did not know about Barret being there. Thought we were just going down to look at buying a condo.....maybe buying something else would be appropriate....wife'd kill me.
Scottsdale is a fun place with some great restaurants....real tourist mecca.

The price for those cars at Barret Jackson is not indicative of what they are really worth at all - not even close most times. It's just a few millionaires fighting on TV to see who can outspend who.
