I'm selling my 1996 Collector Edition, LT4, 6 speed Coupe. It has 38,500 pampered Km. (23,800 miles).
I bought the car from a nice retired guy in La Grange (South Chicago) Illinois in Feb/'11. There is a thread somewhere in the Cdn. Section detailing my journey and importing this Vette. It had 29,500 Km. (18,330 miles) when I bought it.
It was my intent to sell my Vette earlier this summer but life got in the way. I'm offering it now should anyone be interested in enjoying the car for a few months before storing it. If it doesn't sell this Fall it will be tucked away in my heated garage for the winter and sold in the Spring. I'm in no hurry and certainly not under any duress to give it away. But you know how it goes once you've made the mental decision to sell, you want to move on.
The car was delivered to Loveland Chevrolet in Denver, Colorado. I tracked the original owner but have not spoken to him. The gentlemen I bought it from purchased the car from Corvette Mikes.
Current Details;
LT4, 6 speed standard, Z51 suspension, black leather interior, two roof panels..glass and body colour with leatherette storage bag. Michelin Pilots PS has good rubber left on original OEM wheels.
Previous owner installed K&N Filter with open lid. Car comes with original paper filter and perforated lid.
Installed a Hurst short throw shifter with white cue ball know. Original shifter will be included.
Installed a Kenwood double din stereo (DPX500BT) only because I wanted bluetooth for iPhone music and hands free phoning. Original unit to be included. No wire cutting, all plug and play.
Installed new LT4 injectors from Jon at FIC last winter. Nothing wrong with original injectors and will include with sale.
Bought and installed neoprene seat covers from Choice Performance to protect the leather seats which are in great shape. These also come with sale.
Have a complete set of factory service manuals for 1996 including the two blue books that come with sale.
I would drive this car anywhere and have no worries, however the fact is I hardly drive it at all. Everything works as it should. It pulls strong and remains fun to drive.
I've attempted to take relevant pictures with my iPhone (please, I'm no photographer) but will gladly send more pics of any particular part of the car on request.
I had the car appraised for insurance purposes in March/'11. It came at $24,000. It's appreciated that amount is on the high side.
I'm asking $18,000CDN or $14,500US. Certified and Emission tested of course.
