Friday
Get the car out of storage
('bout damned time, dontcha think? )
Saturday
Morning - Get down to the GTG at Sherway (weather permitting)
Afternoon - Drive up to the CC auctions and buy your wife a nice birthday present (you DO need a convertible, right?)
Sunday
Go back to the auctions to pick up your new car (er, your wife's bd present) and go with your wife! It's actually a pretty fun date - Jennie and I usually have our own little wine and cheese "picnic".

Didn't get out there until this afternoon but looks like it was a overall success with plenty of buyers taking home some great values.
True "classics" seem to hold their value but all-in-all quite a lesson on the depreciation of luxury cars within the first 7-20 years. Lots and lots of low-mileage, still-pristine examples proving not only that their owners lost many tens, fifty+ even hundred+ thousand dollars over 5-10 years, but even worse obviously missed the opportunity to really enjoy (ie. drive) these very cool cars.
Here's a pretty nice 1996 C4 Convertible that the owner lifted the reserve on and still didn't go over 8K. It sold at $7,600 Cdn.
Here a 2004 Machine Silver Z06 w/only 40,000kms got up near $30K but no sale.
Looking forward to seeing the full results posted.
When they do, if anyone's interested, I'll post pics of the cars and their sale status.

A guy I know up here picked up a low mileage excellent '94 for $2100 a few months ago - not a vert though but it looks to be in excellent shape. I had thought that prices for C4's had bottomed out a few yrs ago but obviously what do I know. As much as I had thought of doing a resto mod with my C3, with it's racing history I am leaving it and will likely pic up a C6 for spring/summer/fall long cruises with my wife as it is a much more creature comfort car and if an auto she can drive it.

So you're saying a C6A = "Nice, comfortable Ladies car"
In retrospect, it's an easy point to make relative your C3's race setup!
With 9 years of mass production there are a lot of C6's out there and their prices will drop quite a bit after the introduction C7. By then, I imagine that the value of C4s will start to rise (the original unmodded ones the most) and $15-20K nice C5's will be plentiful.
As for current C4 prices - yes, what a bargain! I remember only 10-15 years ago that nice C3's were selling below $10K prices.
The point to all this? Enjoy your cars! Drive 'em - because with very few exceptions there is no evidence that storing any car away really makes much difference on value.

Spring 2013 Toronto Collector Car Auction: Notable Corvette Results
Another fun time at the auction last weekend. Took my daughter on Sat, then Jennie and I went on Sunday. Oh to have more disposable cash and a place to store and work on these cars. Still, as always a unique opportunity to go over in detail some really nice vehicles. Met a lot of good 'n friendly folk too!
I think the overall quality and selection of the vehicles quite good - probably even better than past years. Buyers got a deal, sellers were able to sell without taking too much of a beating. There were a few other Corvettes there and even a Boeing 767 ("The Gimli Glider") went on the block.
Here is a link to the full results
I also took some photos and vids of a few Corvettes and interesting vehicles that came across. I can post more later if anyone's interested.
1967 Chevrolet Corvette 427/435 Roadster
Sold $184,800.00
(Appraised May 2012 at $250K)
1967 Chevrolet Corvette 427/435 Coupe Sold $154,000.00
1971 Chevrolet Corvette454 T-Top Sold $28,875.00
Numbers Matching * Documented * A/C * 4 Speed
Click to watch the bids:
1973 Chevrolet Corvette Sold $13,530.00
Original 454
1962 Chevrolet Corvette Sold $45,650.00
Notable!
1971 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
$75K in Reported Rotisserie Nut and Bolt Restoration Sold $41,250.00

Nice pics and video.
I was there with a buddy and we didn't leave empty handed!
Yes, I'd like to see more pics and videos.
The 2 C2 you have pictures of were very nice cars for sure!
Trans Ams are going up in value. Since GM dropped the Pontiac line this has had some impact. The black and gold special edition Smokey and the Bandit cars are sought after and bringing good $!
