I don't know about the rest of you, but I am getting a little tired of all the vendor threads in this section lately!!! Nothing against the vendors, just seems every thread is a vendor thread!!!

So now for something completely different, I just finished a cool project for my car. I made some LED halo tail lights. Each halo has 46 smd LEDs; the halos act as the running lights. For the stop and turn signal lights, I am using separate 3w single point 1157 LEDs. I think they turned out awesome. I previously had some store-bought LED tail lights, the only ones that are available for my car, and while I was happy with them, I always felt they looked a bit like truck/trailer lights.

Here are my previous LED tail ights:

Here are my home-made LED halo tail lights:

These are the 3w single point 1157 LEDs, they are super bright!

Now back your regularily scheduled vendor threads!!!!

In the prevailing "culture" ; as long as someone (business owner) is trying to turn a buck on something, it makes it perfectly acceptable (to promote their business ad nauseum).

Nicest C3 LED's l have ever seen. They even match your front halo's.
Great work Bruce.

Nice bruce actually dang good, i have been thinking to do Halo and tinted in center, you gave me some confidence to do it, BTW being you a electrician and knows a thing or 2 about electricals i might need your help.

Ohhhh i think members stop posting in this section, look all old timers barely posting here, guess vendors is one of many reasons.

Nice to see some tech DIY thingy tired of seeing general STUPID stuff and vendors thread.

Don't know what this has to do with vendor threads but nice work on those tail lights. I agree the current defacto for C3's looks more like a 90's truck-stop conversion set, but the halo effect is slick and up to date.

I may do mine too, but the smaller C2 bullet lens narrows the options considerably.

Any pics with the brakes on? I'd like to see how bright those single-points are.

Those look AWESOME Bruce, much better than the store bought ones.
Best of all you made them yourself, just like your Vette!

Bruce, as usual, your beast is awesome while remaining understated - yes I said understated. Lots of class.

Nice job on the C3 tails. I just bought a similar set for my C5 from a vendor.

As far as the vendors go, I welcome their input. Without them, we wouldn't have this great forum.

You just couldn't handle having Camaro tail lights on your Corvette, huh?

They look spectacular.
