Long Winter In The Barn - Can't Wait For The Dyno Day On Saturday
Summary Of Progress:
Objective: 7,500 finished area on 3 levels per barn
Main barn and side barn have been framed preserving the original 1887 hand hued frame. About 20,000 sq feet of wood leveraged for the sub-frame.
Main barn and side barn have been insulated with 3 inch SM board. About 17,000 sq feet of insultation used in the walls.
The main barn has been finish with 20 ft length barn boards. About 10,000 sq feet of board used to finish the main barn.
The floor in the side barn has been raised for the bar & lounge.
Sub frame and floors constructed of Hemloc. Walls finished in custom cut pine.
The band will go on top of the grainery in the main barn
The lift will go where the floor is removed in the main barn. I will have 45 ft of height for the lift... no lift height worries here.
A view of the walls mid construction
This is the side barn looking down onto the 20 x 20 projection wall. The photo is taken from the top of the third level where the bar will be located.
A view of the walls with the finished 20 ft boards... and yes they were very heavy to put up.
A nice shot of the new walls highlighting the original hand hued construction.

Looking good!
Please tell me I'm not going to have to use that vertical ladder to get to the bar?
Going up won't be the problem!
I see you already have squatters - old guy in the lumber jacket!
Keep up the good work!

Hey Daryl---you haven't posted in a while--now I see why---great looking barn!!!! No need to call Holmes on Homes to this project--professional 100%. Beautiful old beams in these barns--the amount of work that went into them is amazing!!
