Default Federal performance welcomes Louis Kalantzis and his 9 second C5 corvette!

Louis was running a best of 9.69 @ 142mph on drag radials at the end of the season with his 383 LS1, with Trickflow heads, a taxi cam and a YSI pushing 18 pounds of boost. Louis spoke with us about pulling the motor and consulting with him over the winter to clean up a few messy issues on the motor and to come up with a plan that will put him in the mid 9's consistently and see if he can push the C5 to 150mph in the quarter. Stay tuned for updates! [IMG] [/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

Hey Manny. Nothing exciting. Few small upgrades. Resisting the urge to go faster and trying to keep her a driver.

First off i want to thank all the guys at federal for doing such a clean job on pulling the drive line.....great bunch of car guys!! Seth your a class act with tons of knowledge.
just to give you guy an idea of whats going on ...after i got the motor back to my buddy george christakis of mgr performance and he started very carefully tearing it down trying to diagnose a low oil pressure issue I've been fighting since the motor was put together. The result are pretty sad and pathetic....the motor is built wrong and machined wrong ...not to mention worn out... The main bearings on the brass ,premature wear on the pistons, rod bearing installed wrong and plenty of other mistakes...details WILL follow with lots and lots of pictures of this sad and pathetic build...Its totally wrong how we spend all this money on builds and my results are pretty much a useless motor after only 1 season and maybe 20 passes... Amateur mistakes from a engine shop thats supposed to be top notch...

So far this is the plan....
Iron 6l block not sure of cubes yet built by George Christakis who has already done extensive porting on my trick flow 225 heads and boy do they look nice...flow numbers and pics to come and they will be killer!
He is also gonna spec a custom cam... these baby cams are nice but screw the baby stuff also full 2 inch headers with full 3 inch x pipe and 25 pounds of boost
With the driveline improvments from Seth and federal and my buddies engine program hopefully I'm heading towards a flat 9 high

Hey Louis,

I heard what went on with your engine and all I can say is.... it sucks to see these stories of people not getting what they should when spending their hard earned money.
I hope things work out great this time around. You are in good hands with Seth and Federal, that I can say from experience.
Looking forward to heading to the track this season and seeing what your new build can do.

If George can make that LS breathe as well as his 8 second SBF motors then your going to have a real fast C5 on your hands next year. Can't wait to get this thing on the dyno!

Guys check out the improvements in the flow number after some head porting....nice gains considering this is already a cnc head. I looked up some flow numbers from a recent magazine test. Independent test of flow numbers are much more realistic than the flow numbers shown by the manufactures ( in my opinion )... My head were flow tested and cc'd before and after the work...here are the results
Another thing..I'm posting a picture of my crank keyway....notice how it's getting rounded....it even had a hairline crack at the bottom .....I'm gonna double key way the crank and upgrade that little piece of metal to something not s soft
