You started off by saying there will be no dealer mark-up, but now you're saying the odd dealer that will mark it up.....

The fact is they will be scarce and to get one you either need to have an established relationship with a dealer or pay the price.

I know with 2007 Shelby's (and even early terminators in 2002) many many dealers started out asking for mark-ups. I know people that paid 70 plus grand for what they thought was a one or two year production Shelby GT500 only to have them produced from 2007 all the way to 2014, with a body update in 2010. By 2010 you could get a 2007 for 32 grand AND the 2010 body style looked even better!

I'm not saying anyone SHOULD pay a mark-up but to have one as they hit the streets will cost, no doubt about it.

I ended up buying my Z06 because there was NO WAY in hell I was going to pay 60 grand for a slightly used 2013 GT500. A new one is 78 plus tax. and will be worth 30 within 3 years still with no miles on it.

One thing I'm sure about is someone will baby a 2015 Z06 so when I can afford one in 5-7 years it'll still be mint.

Exactly and well said !! I was a 2007 Shelby owner (list, no markup thanks to a lawyer threat) , and still have the article that FORD claimed it will be a " 2 year/ maybe 3 year production ", yea my a$$ !! one of the reason I sold it too. I'll never fall for that 'limited' crap again......like you, there will be very little driven gems in a few years like all toys made, then is the time to jump

I guess what I should have said is that there will be many dealers, most in fact, that will not charge "mark ups" on top of list for Z06's. There might be the odd villain out there trying for more, but I think it will be few and far between in Canada, and easily avoided by dealing with a reputable dealer.

The Z06 will be a relatively small volume car, maybe 5K per year for the world, about 100 in Canada, and as such it will likely depreciate less quickly than your average car, but certainly it would not be accurate to suggest that they are a limited run car, or anything like it. It will be possible to buy one in a few years for less money, likely just over half in 5 years, but if you figure the car is 100K new, and you can wait 60 months and buy one for 50K, that is about $800/month depreciation. Bet you there aren't many here who WANT a Z06 and wouldn't pay $800 month to have it now! ;-) Of course, you can't get it now even if you want to, so it is a moot point... If you don't have a deposit down already, you are likely getting a 2016 at this point...

Good point. If they can't clean up the crappy paint jobs coming out of the factory in 2015 I will look elsewhere for my next performance car.

You already posted that your neighbour's dealer has taken 4 deposits and bills of sale at MSRP, mine has a similar number, and I know of another that has more, all at MSRP. No guarantees that all will be 2015 models, and if they end up being 2016 models, it will be at 2016 MSRP, but no add'l markup...

When buyers start posting their purchase attempts for the new Z, the biggest issue will be that they are getting told that they can't get a car, at any price. IF you haven't already done a deal on a 2015 Z06, you are likely getting a 2016 Z06, unfortunately... Unless GM surprises with a much higher than expected price that creates lots of walk-aways.

I am aware of numerous order taken at msrp.
I think there will be a lot of disappointed people re 2015. Allocation will be tiny as it's based primarily on prior years sales. And those prior years were when there was a 25% price gap with USA. Too bad for us.
As for pricing I agree with the $85-90 CND base car.

Corrado, could be... I have long said $89,995, but it is just an educated guess. US pricing is due to be announced on the Z06 late this month, that should give us a pretty good idea... Not that it matters, if you haven't already ordered one, what you will need to know is what 2017 MSRP is going to be... ;-)

2015 Z06 Coupe starts at $78,995 in the US, +5K for convertible

I expect that I might have been high at $89,995 up here, but it really doesn't matter if you don't already have one on order. And even if you do, it better be one of the first couple at your dealer or you are going to be out of luck, it sounds like.... Only a handul of dealers are going to get more than 2, from what I am told...

My guess, the new Z - you will see people paying 95-105k easily plus tax and that's at retail - no person or dealer with half a brain will be ordering just a 'base' car

Funny, I agree, and that is awesome! That is what Z06's were going for in 2007!

I'll guesstimate the base Canadian MSRP for the '15 Z06 at 84240 + 1800 (freight, PDI, and air tax) = 86040.

Yup, I think this is a 2 year wait right now if you are lucky... A couple of dealers might be able to get you a 2016 at this point, but most won't... No that is not a typo...
