Default Drive clean test

So I received the dreaded notice yesterday that my Vette requires a drive clean test and I was hoping someone can chime in on where to take it. I would much appreciate a recommendation to a reputable service provider. Much like you guys, I too am apprehensive about handing my baby over to just anyone. Thanks in advance fellas!

You dont have worry much about your baby....its a simple test plugin and thats it..no more dyno.

You can take anywhere....they all same ontario based obd system.

Place I go to is on Warden & Continental -- east side, between ellesmere & 401. Can't remember the name.

They only do drive clean, so they have no vested interest in selling additional work.
Last time I was there, it was quiet and I was out the door in less than 20 minutes.

Remember in today's world the test is to simply verify that your car does not have any emission related fault codes. They simply plug into your car's diagnostic port. No need to even open the hood. There is absolutely nothing to worry about unless your car is heavily modified.

If you still have concerns I know a place that does a pre-test to make sure it will pass before you take it. I personally fail to see the need but if you would like contact information PM me.

Pick just about any place that looks like it's run decently. You could likely ask them if you can drive it in and out of the bay if you wanted.

It's nothing to be scared of anymore. Like the others posted, it's just a simple OBDII port plug-in test. With tuning, you can pass the test without cats or the air system even installed. If your car has run for 4-500km without disconnecting the battery and you don't have a check engine light then it should pass no problem.

I haven't heard of it for a pre-OBDII car, but then why would you spend the money for a pre-test? The test is around $30 and then around $17 for up to 2 re-tests. I just can't see you paying less than $17 for a pre-test on an OBDI car. Even if you find it cheap, by just doing the actual test you could pass and be done with it instead of spending money on a pre-test where you pass and then spending money again on the actual test.

Anyone with a scanner can check an OBDII car but it'd have to be for free to be worth doing.

As I noted earlier, I know a place that does pre-tests. Feel free to PM me for its info. I do think though that a pre-test is useless with the current system; a part of which is there is no consequence of failing the "official" test.

if you check engine light isn't on and you have been driving the car fairly regularly you will pass, it is a bloody joke...

my vette is a 1993 OBD1 , I need to get a sniffer test done. Just wonder if I should get a pre test done , to see where it's at. But, like someone mentioned, I should just go for the test and see from there.

wow...thanks to all for the replies.

So to get this straight, there is no more dyno type roller involved in the emission test? If that is the case, it would be a huge relief since I was concerned my ZR1 lip would get damaged and all.

i have had many cars done over the years, some stock, and some modded, never seen any dyno type roller test once.
