So here we are meeting up at The Pig Out BBQ parking lot.
Checking out the menu.
Someone doesn't like the papparazzi and wanted to remain...anonymous.
After we left the Pig Out BBQ, Richard led us to Lakeshore Road, which had some really nice views.
But he waved me by to take up the lead, so I did. Little did I know what lay ahead....
No idea what was going on with the flower arrangements.
Never seen a street sign like this where the rail crossing and the intersection are this close.
But what's this? Now I see why he let me lead. He wanted to see if it's safe to cross.
Made it!
Kind of reminds me of cresting the top of the Great Canadian MineBuster roller coaster at Wonderland.
Interesting rickety old wooden bridge. Yup, the same bridge I just crossed.
Lakeshore Road is a nice scenic drive with plenty of canopy. Couldn't help thinking this would make a nice fall cruise as well.
Quite a few underpass tunnels on Lakeshore Road.
Coming into Port Hope. I think this is my first ever visit to a colonial looking town.
Downtown Port Hope.
Train trestle.
Just a brief pit stop at the new Burger King.
And Richard took us into Brighton to show us this little marina with a decent restaurant, maybe for the next cruise.
Arriving at The Big Apple at last.
We all walked out with a goodie bag.
No one else wanted to join me for a group shot. Thanks for taking the pic Mike.
And here we are leaving The Big Apple, making our way home.
Thanks to Eshel (cornutodeuce) for suggesting lunch at the Pig Out BBQ. Food was good. Thanks to Chris (infernobuster) for suggesting Lakeshore Road as an alternate to Kingston Rd and the 401. And to Richard for taking up the lead briefly to get us through Port Hope and Brighton. And finally, thanks to everyone else for joining me for lunch at The Pig Out BBQ and making the trek all the way east to The Big Apple.
