However, there will be one last cruise to Webers and Gravenhurst, provided the weather holds up on Sat Oct 26.
Where you meeting us, Mike?

Stan, a friend of mine came up Highway 35 with his C6 on both Saturday and Sunday through the "construction" area. He said the road was a little rough from grinding but there were no stones or pavement chips on the road surface. He said you may want to slow a bit getting on and off the pavement grinding area. Just a shame that it is in the passing zones but it will work out I am sure. If I get a chance I will take a run down to Norland on Thursday for an update.
I would say you are probably good to go on the original route.
Leaves are just spectacular and if the weather holds it will be great day for a drive. I will meet up with you folks some where along the route. Enjoy the drive up.

Stan, sadly Valerie and I are out for this weekend. I neglected to check my calendar and Saturday is Yom Kippur a very very important day in the Jewish calendar. I will be otherwise disposed. Wishing you all a great day, awesome weather, and a fantastic run. Lots of pics please.

Highway 35 Construction North of Norland - Stan's Fall Tour 2014
OK, let me preface this by saying I am very particular about where I would take or leave my car. I would have no problem with this stretch of Highway 35 that is under construction.
About five miles north of Norland Highway 35 widens out to the first of two passing areas. This area has been ground and swept clear of stones or old pavement. It is fairly smooth even with the grinding. You will see a sign at the end of this passing/construction area that says Moore Falls (blue MTO sign). Just beyond is a transition strip that is a bit of a bump. Lowered cars with splitters or low spoilers should slow before this area.
Beyond that it is all new pavement. I would say you are good to go without taking any detours (it would be a long one) around this area.
Hope it does not rain. Looking forward to seeing the Toronto guys again.

Hey Stan.
Sorry to say that I'm out. Clutch is finally done after 8 seasons (it was slipping on the Timmies cruise last week), and won't be replaced until next week.
Hope the weather holds out for you guys tomorrow.

Al, stop. Please. Just saying those words will scare people away.
You can hook up with some people at Yorkdale Mall around 8:30am and cruise with them to Hwy 48 and Bloomington Road. We leave at 10am.

Stan, I could be wrong but Country Road 20 (aka Horseshoe Lake Road) is well north of where the construction on Highway 35 is. It is a cottage road, it has been years since I have been around that lake on it.
Seriously you will have no issues with Highway 35. The area of concern is about 15 miles south of CR 20.
Hope for good weather.

For some reason, I had it in my head the construction was north of Minden, and Horseshoe Lake Road, the cottage road as you put it, was going to be my bypass around the road construction.
The streetview for CR20 looks nice with curvy turns, some elevation ups and downs, not to mention that most of the street is canopied by trees. I am doing this cruise so we can see the fall colours afterall, so was thinking this would be a good detour.
