The clutch was getting hot on the last few runs, and caused oscillating slip. By the time we made it on to the road, all was good again.
I'd like to note that there are many different power adders out there for the C7, with many people noting tuning issues with these cars. The biggest issue is false knock when adding a supercharger. Every person you talk to about these issues that is also a tuner says the same thing, "turn off the knock sensors, we have no choice for now or the car keeps pulling timing".
Champion motors really doesn't like this idea. The tune could be perfect, and conservative with knock sensors turned off. We don't control the octane of gas that goes in your tank. We don't control the quality or reliability of your in tank fuel pump. We don't control many factors which could lead to a REAL ping or detonation - chipping a piston, breaking a ring land, etc.
As a result, Champion spent the time making sure that a quality tune was achieved without turning off the knock sensors. It took a while, but we feel we are the only tuning solution out there that doesn't risk blind tuning of a C7 for the sake a few extra horsepower. We have verified that they are not showing false knock, and modified the tune on this car (making it leaner) to verify that knock comes back when it's real. We're as happy with the results as the customer is - and everyone can sleep at night knowing the extremely important knock sensors are still functioning as they should.
