Update from Alex's mum, he is still in critical care and still on life support. No changes for the past 10 days. No visitors or flowers being allowed in the CCU.
Wish I had a better update. Keep sending positive thoughts his way!

Until I had seen the memorial--I could not put a name to the face--now I can!!--Great guy--always in the background--never saying a harsh word about anyone--always a cheerful demeanor---all
round nice guy--always one of the first to come up and say Hi!! Our prayers go out to Alex and his family---we all know someone that rides everyday--so it hits close to home!!! Keep us posted on his progress!!!

So, spoke to Heino today, Alex's dad. He is still in critical condition and on life support. There are many complications, too much to list here, but suffice to say he broke many, many bones, has head trama and internal injuries. They cant do much until he stabilizes somewhat, and its been 2 full weeks now.
Heino did say Alex has made some eye contact, and can move one arm a little. He told him that everyone on the forum is rooting for him and that got a little smile out of him.
Still no visitors, and he continues to be in the critical care unit at Sunnybrook.
His folks have been by his side almost 24/7. Everyone with kids I'm sure can relate. Its been draining on them, physically, emotionally and soon, financially.
Please consider supporting them by clicking the link below and making a small donation. Money will help cover the costs of expenses incurred when a situation like this happens. When my brother was in the hospital last year, parking was $23 day, and I was there daily, so I can see how little stuff like this adds up.
Plus there's the long term convalescence costs that will eventually face them. Anything you can give will not only help them, but just as importantly show that you support both Heino and Birgit, as well as Alex.
For those of you who don't know Alex, you just can't find a nicer, more polite, well mannered, upbeat and positive young guy anywhere. The early forum guys know this about Alex. When I first met him, 2005 I think, he was in his early 20's. We instantly hit it off, in spite of our age difference. Over the years I watched him mature, get a great job, buy his first house, join a race team. His parents are very loving and giving people and Alex has brought his dad out to events in the past.
While this is just part of my personal connection with him, many others here will have similar stories and connections.
As soon as Alex stabilizes and can take visitors, I'll be sure to let everyone know.
Keep him in your positive thoughts
