Default Who pulls their battery or puts a tender on it for winter?

I bought a tender and am debating leaving it connected to the car for the winter. Garage is unheated, but more due to the fact I think the alarm will totally suck the battery dry.

Or what about pulling the battery out and putting the tender on it in my basement? Is there any need to leave it in the car at all?

The car is always plugged into a tender all the time. Normally I remove the battery in winter and leave it in garage on the tender.

Just leave the tender on 24/7 as designed, no need to take the battery out either.

I have had a Battery Tender on my C5 since new. The original battery lasted 11 years. Replaced the battery this year and for the first time I am going to take it right out of the car and leave it on the BT on the workbench. It is easy to get the battery out of the C5 but I understand not so easy on other models. My garage is also unheated.

Taking a battery put of a c6 wide body is a heck of a job.My zr1 will just get tenderized for the winter.

I also just stick a tender on my battery in the winter, that way if we get some days when the roads are free of salt I can take the car out at a moment's notice.

I leave mine connected to the tender all winter unheated garage never had a problem with any vehicle ive stored for the last 5-7 years since having it so much easier just to plug it in, instead of pulling it out like i used to years ago.

I just connect mine through the cigarette lighter, my tender shuts on and off as required to keep the battery fully charged

I've been doing the same for many years with no issues.

I have an 01 that I bought in 07--original battery (Delco)--just replaced 2 weeks ago--always in my cold garage when in storage with the tender on---never a problem!!!

Exactly - no need to pull it out. I use the cigarette lighter adapter too.

When I had my C3 and with my Camaro, I've just disconnected the negative terminal, left the battery in the car, and had no issues on start up in the Spring.
Battery tenders are a great alternative, to each their own, whatever you feel comfortable with.

I leave the battery in the car and connect the Tender for the winter.

Thanks for the reminder tho - I am heading south for about 3 weeks and should connect it.

My cars are stored at my other place and I don't go in that garage during the winter so I pull the batteries and bring them home. I had a battery in my Impala boil enough acid to cause some damage when left on a Ctek all winter. I connect the Ctek to each battery a few days every couple of months and they are fine.

I do the same as the majority here. Just plug in the tender and forget about it until she comes back out.
Make sure you go with a decent battery tender.
