The procession will be from the funeral home to the cemetery, so I would assume that would be at 2. Mike, can you confirm this? The viewing service is from 12-2. So as long as we're at the funeral home before they leave for the cemetery, we should be good. Mike, you want to meet me at noon at the Home Depot? We can go together. We will all meet up at the funeral home and then head to the cemetery.

I think the actual burial is more of a solemn, emotional family thing, and in my opinion, not the place for a bunch of Corvettes.
Again, your call...

2-3 is the ceremony Stan, so the actually internment is afterwards. Your call, but I think the procession should be to the viewing, to pay our respects as a group.

If you're talking about cruising the funeral home together as a group, then that's ok too.

Im waiting to here back from Heino on any special requests...but for now, I'd say plan it from Champion as a meeting spot, to the funeral home for the viewing/paying last respects.
Not everyone will stay for the service and the trip to the cemetery, so I think this is better. Plus it's when the Honda and race team group will be there.

UPDATE: I have spoken with Rob at Champion and although they are closed on Saturdays we are welcome to use his shop as a staging area for the Corvette group. My suggestion is we meet up there between 1230 and 100 and then head over to the funeral home for 2 pm. Those that want can continue to the graveside as they wish. I don't know how many Vettes are still on the road but I guess we'll see on Saturday.
Thanks Rob for your generosity.

Here is the posting on the funeral's website.

P.S.
Thanks to the Administrator for putting this up as a separate sticky, that shows a lot of respect to the family.

I spoke with Heino this morning. Both him and Birgit are doing as well as can be expected.
His 3 brothers arrive from Germany tommorow. They have been busy with many arrangements.
Heino asked that if anyone wanted to say a few words at the service that would be fine.
He also mentioned that Alex is to be cremated, so there will be no procession to the cemetery. I believe afterwards there will be light refreshments and food being served.
Just passing on what he shared with me...I look forward to a strong showing of support from the Corvette Forum family

I'm not much on funerals, but Alex's service today was both touching and heartfelt. The pastor spoke in both German and English, and was particularly eloquent. In one part of his service, he spoke of how Alex touched people "and how many of you here today have seen the outpouring of support and love from the Corvette Forum"
It just shows you how strong our online presence can be...
I also learned many other things about Alex over the past 6 weeks: how he loved to sing, that he was competitive swimmer, that he took automotive engineering and design at Georgian College, that young kids always gravitated to him at functions, that most every picture ever taken of him shows him smiling and that he was loved by a great many number of people outside his family and the Forum.
Lastly, I learned that as a group, the Corvette Forum is a very special place. Over the years many have branched off, gone different ways and may not be as active as before. But I for one will always maintain a presence here, especially after the events of the last several weeks
