Last weekend, someone who had been trying to purchase my allocation since last November made his highest offer for my allocation; it was 10K Cdn (which is like 28cents US right now). His offer initially started at 1K, 2.5, 5 and then 7.5K. I found it a coincidence that his final offer was made just before my order hit 3000. Conversely, my dealership had also mentioned that someone tried to better my list price to which they told that person that the allocation was accounted for.

I asked him on Tuesday why he was so willing to offer such a high price; his answer was the fact that there are only double digit 2015 Z06s ever coming to Canada, and also, 10K was still WELL below what he is going to pay elsehwhere, plus he doesnt have the 12K mile warranty penalty from purchasing a US car.

And then he said last chance before we hung up...

My wife is royally pissed that I never grabbed that free 10K by the way...

He must have wanted your allocation pretty bad. Who knows if he would have went to 15 or 20 grand. Also your wife would have been very happy. Don't know about you but I would have taken the cash and got in line for a 2016.

I think the problem is that the 2016s are also already spoken for, which is why that guy was willing to give 10k to get a guaranteed chance at a 2015.

So would my wife... I believe he lived close to the dealership and, maybe even had a contact inside who was keeping him up to date. Great dealership to stand by me.

Oh and I might have looked pretty closely at 15 but would have def grabbed 20K...even then though it leaves me out in the cold with only hopes to get a US model with the warranty limitation...still priced higher than my car plus that 20 right? SO no...even 20 would have had me thinking car first...

IMHO, you did the right thing. If I had a Z06 on order and waited as long as you did, I would not budge for 10G, maybe 20G but would have to think hard about it. By the time you get to order again, the price would have gone up and you would have lost out without a car for a couple of years, not worth the 10G.

Good luck with your Z06!

Coincidentally... pm's yesterday from a person who had the Z06 allocation closest to my home; they state that they sold the allocation for 11K...

I would not touch a $10k offer for my allocation. I would expect the 2016 orders to be accounted for. I would also expect a big price increase for 2016 to make up for our lousy dollar.

Hi all, just want to share with you that I did not get the Z06. The GM dealer in Newmarket (not to be named) had lied to me and refunded my 5K deposit this week. Left a very bad taste in my mouth. I met with Brian Halverson, the GM Service Retention & Marketing Mgr for Central Region, but to no eveil. GM dealers can do whatever they want, whether its ethical or not. With our dollar as bad as it is now, getting a US car is not an option.

Well if anyone is having second thoughts on their 2015 Z06, name your price. Looking for Convertible, Automatic, 3LZ with ground effects and stinger stripe (unless ext is black).

Patrocp,

Sorry man...this is unfortunate but not acknowledging the dealer that used unethical business practices to hold that money all these months is just wrong. There may be others who haven't had there money returned or haven't a clue from that same dealer..

Good luck in your search my friend.

My dealer still has allotments for C7 Stingrays and if you want a Z06 he has them at his US dealership. PM me if you need my contact. My car arrived at dealership two days ago

I was at a car show in Ottawa last week end - http://www.autoshowottawa.com/ - and there was a beautifull red 2015 Z06 convertible there. It was a show attended mainly by dealers, not sure who had the Corvette, my guess would be Myer's motor.
