I remember back in the 80's during the beer strike, I was going to Carleton in Ottawa. I was the only one on my residence floor with wheels. Crossed that bridge from Hull quite a few times with a crap load of Laurentide on board.

2" heck there's guys here on my beer league team that would be fishing on that, never mind sleddin'. Merry Christmas buddy, another month or two and we'll have to start preliminary plans for our Georgian Bay Cruise.

Funny guy.

Day light gets longer then.

And technically not true. That's why we have an extra day every 4 years.

Yessir. Looking forward to it.

All the best to you and your bride as well.

Rumor I heard yesterday from my groomer operator neighbor is some local guy tried to drive his small pickup and plow onto the ice and went through in 2ft of water. He was trying to plow off a spot for the kids to skate on.

Somebody said pics were taken and posted on FB. If I can find them I'll post them up.

Drive on 2"?, H*ll, I'd be hard pressed to walk on 2" let alone on or in anything else. Ive had my fair share of issues on the ice where there was 3ft below me. I don't need to tempt fate with 2".

Merry "__________", fill in your particular customary holiday season greeting here.

Merry Christmas CFCE from the Great White North.

Yeah I agree, but I always double the thickness number. I know my new truck isn't going on the ice that is for sure.

Things my dad always taught me to respect:

"Ladies, Propane and Ice, always treat them right and they won't kill you."

Apologies for the crappy iPhone pic. Take from 150 yards away.
This is where the truck and plow went into about 2' of water. Was plowing a rink for the kids to skate on when he went through. S-10 Blazer with a 6' metal plow.

Hard to see but the ice is all busted up just above the bench seat on the left side of the photo

Were makin' ice now baby......-20c last night. -16c is the high today.
