Hard to see but the ice is all busted up just above the bench seat on the left side of the photo

Were makin' ice now baby......-20c last night. -16c is the high today.

Hope the driver wasn't too badly hurt. Maybe just his pride.

But what a difference about a 100km makes. We had some snowfall yesterday and most of it is already gone. We're still having a green Christmas here. And temps are only in the negative single digits. At least for now.

Happy New Year!

Well I found out something new about myself a couple of weeks ago. Didn't know this would have been an issue for me. I've mentioned in the past that I would like to get back into sledding and motorcycling and it looks like I won't be able to now.

I've got a somewhat mild form of claustrophobia. Usually happens when I'm in small places with lots of people, like in elevators or very busy bars and what not. I haven't worn a helmet for about 12 years now, but I was out and about looking at and trying on helmets and gave myself a pretty bad panic attack. Maybe in time, with some practice, I'll get over it, but for now, it's not safe for me to wear a helmet.

I know it's all in my head and nothing is going to happen, just wish my body would listen to me.

And I'll just have to continue living vicariously through the sledders here and their pictures.

Happy New Year everyone.

No injuries I'd guess. Just his pride and a waterlogged truck

Stan, see any modular helmets? Open face and closed with a slide of the chin piece

An option anyway.

I didn't see anything like that. Looks pretty cool. Would be worth a try if I knew where I could try one on. Who makes that helmet?

Stan. Try royal distributing in Innisville (Barrie) I know they have them. Can am (ski doo) dealer should have a version as well.

Brian, lol. I still use one of those old bubble helmets! When I'm on the lake behind a sled on a GT Snowracer or kneeboard.
I'd be better off with a cardboard box on my head I think.

Dodosmike.

8-12" 4-500 yards out, 6-8" in the middle. Plenty, even for my heavy weight Yamaha

Ever wonder how we find our hut, 3 miles out on the lake, in the middle of the night?

Ha, sweet. I have one for the end of my dock when I'm out in the boat fishing after dark. Makes life a whole bunch simpler.
