So I pulled the trigger on a set of coilovers, and figure I should probably pick up a set of aftermarket sway bars as well to complete the package prior to having the car aligned. Anyone have any input on which to buy or know where I can can the best deal on a set?

C6 Z51 sway bars are a great up-grade for the street, price is real good on them new as well.... I run them, so do plenty of others...if you're gonna track it though you may want something more exotic....like T1s etc...
I'm sure someone else will chime in ....

I've looked at c6 z51 bars, but yes I do think I'm going to want something a little heavier. I've been looking at LG G1 bars which from what I've seen is essentially a modified T1 setup. I just want to make sure I've laid all my options out on the table before I pull the trigger.

Depends what type of driving you plan on doing street/track..
I was fortunate to get a great deal on used Pfadt sway bars which are definately overkill for the street, but they are great on on/off ramps.
They do come up used for sale from time to time on the forum.

Need to match your sways with your springs and then with your tires too.

Thanks, but C6 Z06 bars do not really function properly on a C5, the rear track on a C6 Z06 is too big in comparison. The front bar would be too light and rear bar too heavy.

The car will be properly aligned/balanced after its all installed. This is why I want to get the sways prior to installing the coilovers.

Do you know what spring rate you are going with on the coil overs?

There are 2 parts to setup cornering stiffness, with springs and with bars. Stiff spring with soft bar, soft spring with stiff bar.

If driving on the street I would go softer spring stiffer sway. Makes life a bit easier. It is also a preference from handling as both setups exhibit different characteristics even though they have the same wheel rates.

Do you know what spring rate you are hoping for? Once you determine this you can determine your sway choice. Unless you are looking for some cheap sways then match your springs to that...but usually that is backwards as a sway is usually a tuning aid.
