Licence Plate Bracket modification
I had purchased a detachable plate holder from a Forum vendor several years ago for my first C6-the one that was attached using 3M tape to the front bumper.Over time & mileage , the bracket became debonded & I surgically cleaned the car ,installed new 3M tape to the mount & carried on.This got to be an annual ritual, also carrying a roll of duct tape in the car as back up.
Looking at another vendor's plate bracket installation, I modified mine to work in the same manor.
Turn on the radio in the garage/shop.
Pour a beverage of a sociable nature if so desired.
Remove the detachable plate mount portion,
Draw a line from hole to hole in the main mount
Drill a hole in the center between the two existing holes.
Using a mirror, remove the center 7mm self tapping screw that holds the spoiler on.
Turn the bracket upside down, insert between the spoiler & bumper.
Align the center hole in the mount with the 7mm bolt hole.
Reinstall the the 7 mm self tapping bolt.
Check the other two bolts to the left & right of the center bolt for tightness.
Reinstall plate. The part with the 3M tape & 2 studs does not get reinstalled.
Done.

It was originally a Top Flight bracket from the USA.Keep checking on the C6 for sale section of the USA side of the forum. There have been a few recently for sale by guys moving up to C7s.You could probably go to Home Depot/Lowes & buy a piece of angle aluminum & 2 plate nuts & whip it up in about 20 minutes or so.

That's a great idea. Good Job
Here is a pic of my front licence plate holder. I am so happy that our province gives us a choice for a front plate or not.

I'm surprised the Top Flight bracket kept coming un bonded like that, I thought they were pretty rock solid and lasted for many years without an issue. I've got one on mine and have had it there for almost two years now without a problem, hopefully it stays that way!

Excellent work.
I had problems with the TF product also and went with the carbon fiber version.
It's light and strong. No more metal frames for me.
Here is a you tube link of what I purchased.

For those of you that have had your TF bracket come off, when you initially put it on did you totally clean the area with alcohol and also did you put in on in cold or warm weather? The warmer the better. Also, you need to hold the bracket in place for about five minutes, applying a good amount of pressure to it, did you guys do this? I followed the instructions to a T, so hopefully mine won't fall off. This is honestly the first time I've ever heard anyone complain about the TF brackets falling off.

Actually looks great without that plate.Maybe you can use that spot to attach your snow plow after that winter you had. Lol!!Was on the Cabot trail with some of the Moncton crew last October. My wife is from NB.You guys have to put your cars away far too early & bring them out too late.
