GM Canada Refuses To Reduce 2016 Corvette Warranties Like GM USA
Not often that this happens but GM Canada will not follow suit by reducing Corvette warranties in 2016; they will remain at 5yr/160000 km as they are this year. This is in direct contrast of GM USA who are reducing their present powertrain warranty from 100K miles to 60k miles in 2016. In short, Canadian Corvettes will have a better warranty and twice as many oil changes as that of their US counterparts, even though all Vettes are built side by side.

At thousands of dollars more for msrp in canada vs the U.S., I think I would still take the us deal. Us site $55,000 starting price, cad $63,000+
$8000 plus tax can buy a lot of oil changes.
Just my 2 cents.

i suppose i should have provided better context. if i was a 'Murican and had the same net worth and salary in USD or if I am a Canadian and have the same net worth and salary, the american me would be getting a better deal.
its not about exchange, its about purchasing domestically in the respective market.

Just to be clear and confirm what my friend Frank stated, bringing a Vette into Canada comes with a 6 month/8000km warranty exclusion, during which you are not covered under any warranty terms. This applies to any GM vehicle, and actually, all vehicles have similar plans in place to try to reduce out of country shopping, or grey market purchases.

The "not honored warranty issue" is based on your country of residence. I have a friend who bought a new Hyundai in AZ (and its registered there, at his winter home), Drove it home to ON, needed some work done. Service was performed here, no cost to my friend. Now "residency" rules are another whole discussion, and I'm not saying that Chev dealers would treat the Vette paperwork process any different, but its possible.
ANybody here have a US address and have a car registered there and brought it north and tried to have warranty work done? Im curious.
I had warranty work done on my (then 3month old) VW in SC without any issue, but it was a minor repair, but an "in warranty repair" none-the-less.

I'm almost thinking of selling my C6 and banking the cash for a year or two until C7s become affordable.
