I'm afraid of what's in store for Canada.
I guess the people that wanted change, got it.
Let's see how we make it through the next recession!

2021 C6 of the Year Finalist - Modified
Side note: What is the latest status on the investigation into those gas plants?! Haven't heard a peep from that. I guess that 1 BILLION plus of taxpayers dollars down the drain will "Balance itself".

It was time for a change. Harper should have stepped down last year after the Senate Scandal. All his high profile ministers bailed on him before this election, because they knew he lied about the $90K payout to Duffy, and the cover up that they tried to keep under wraps.
The PM not knowing what was going on in the PMO??? Give us all a break. He was a control freak, and he knew everything. Nigel Wright took the fall for him.
Looks good on him. Looks like his bagman, Paul Calandra also fell on the same sword.
At least Trudeau won't be a tyrant. At least people won't have to work till their 67 years old.
The days of Fear Mongering are over for awhile.
Long live the Fords

Watching BNN this morning, the business community seems pretty happy with the results and more QE spending initiatives. Can't wait for Fuddle Duddle II t-shirts to start appearing. Great to see the youth vote come out in droves. Will be interesting to see if the new Cons leader is in the Harris/Hudec/Harper reform mode or more of a moderate, hopefully the latter.

You're gonna care when Alberta and BC soon become have-not provinces once again thanks to the socialist enviro weenies(and low oil prices) and that couple of thousand dollars of equalization dollars per man, woman and child annually stop flowing out of the western provinces to Ontario and Quebec.Haven't thousands of oil patch workers already left their unpaid for vehicles at the Edmonton airport and returned returned east to sit at home and collect their maximum unemployment benefits,"free" healthcare and prescriptions?

All of his ministers and MP's were gagged to only speak using talking points, and to never answer any questions with a definitive conclusive answer.
I will agree that he was a very good politician that represented Canada well on the world stage.
I'm not sure that he can be described as the most professional, as he did have some issues in the PMO that he should have taken responsibility for.
After 10 years, no matter who is in power, they become stale, no new ideas, and people get sick of them.
This election was more of a referendum against Harper, than it was a vote for the Liberals.
In 2 terms, the Liberals will be booted out as well, if not sooner.

Hell yes. They are taking the building materials from the non-existant GAS PLANTS, putting them on the gravy train that is back in motion and being built by unions on time and a half.

This time around, the Libs hired Trudeau, getting youth and resurrecting a nostalgic Liberal name - plus got some great campaign strategists involved. They learned well from their last Iggy experience!
Ultimately and like Corrado's pointed out, it's positively head shaking that voters support to elect but the low support for accountability after the fact. Yes - Where ARE those answers to the scandals?
Past Tories weren't any better. In Ontario I will forever shudder at the 407 debacle but what's happened/happening in Ont with eHealth/ORNGE/HydroOne is .
Since it's just the same - I'm bugged also by the expense and logistics of moving in new staff, offices, they get new furniture, systems, relationships are lost, new ones are brought in (i.e. a different set of cronies, but usually still cronies.)
I wish we could de-politicize many of the federal government jobs into more of a business model (publicly owned crown corporations where citizens are shareholders?) and making these roles clerical/management positions with a defined agendas and budgets.
Like many, I too believe it's the same game, that gets played the same way by a different team but same results. This next round certainly wasn't my choosing, but a majority must be honored in a democracy.
Let's just hold the example of why this happened to the losing party and hold the Liberals accountable to where our tax dollars are going.
