Factory orders less than MSRP in S.Ont?
I've made some inquiries about factory ordering a new Stingray and was advised by the salesman they will only sell at MSRP. Do any Southern Ontario dealerships offer discounts on 2016 orders?

There are many new 2015 and 2016 Corvettes sitting on dealer lots in Alberta. I suspect you could get a pretty good deal on one of them if you could find what you are looking for in inventory. Last time I looked at Calgary dealer web sites there were more than 30 new C7s on the ground.

When I ordered my '15 back in '14, the dollar was very strong (over $1.00 u.s) then in 2015 the dollar started to nose dive and the price of the car went up 3 times during the single model year.
When the C7 first appeared in 2014 the price was only about $700 off that of the U.S. and look at it now.
DIFFERENCE = $10,000+

http://www.lakewoodchev.com/new-inve...elections=true advertising new 2015s at $7,000+ off MSRP. I sent an email last night and they responded within minutes, very anxious to clear out the 2015s.
When I spoke with the Ontario salesman he said they price the used C7s high because they can send them to the US, but they cannot sell the new C7s over MSRP or sell to the US. He also said to expect more price increases in Canada to make up for the poor dollar.
Furthermore I spoke with an Alberta friend who works in the oil patch and he told me not to expect oil prices to improve for some time, hence a continuing weak CND.

Thanks. I'm actually shopping for my dad. He bought a new 2006 coupe back then, sold it to me 3 years latter and got a Nissan 350 Z roadster. He now wants back into a Vette. I currently have the '06 and a 2004 Z16 and enjoy both.

Right now I'm looking at in stock 2015 from a price point, but will order a new 2016 and get the preferred options (once we figure that out). Looking at A8 coupes with either 2LT or 3LT trim. Want it for the street only so don't need Z51. Colour is undetermined but leaning toward white or grey. Looking at what's out there to see what works best.

Very smart of you to shop and not fall into the msrp crap or over msrp - why anyone would give them 10% profit is beyond me.

I initially thought GM was really constraining supply to Canada, especially when they sold only 48 Vettes in November. But looking at the sales through the years, we've been getting quite a few C7s (from www.goodcarbadcar.net/)

While it's true that they have sold more C7s each year than they did for the C6, they still limited the supply so that there were many customers who could not get cars. So the demand was still much higher than the supply. They probably could have sold 3 or 4000 C7s up here if the availability was there.

I agree. When I got my 2014, I felt lucky to even get one and gladly payed MSRP without even asking for a discount. I initially ordered one locally. After 3 months with no word if they could get it, I cancelled and telephone ordered one from WN in Richmond Hill, which I got in less than a month. I did get the loyal customer discount since I also have a caddy, but I spent that on the extended warranty.
