Default Membership Fee in C$

I posted this in the Help section but got no feedback.
Any chance the membership fee can be in Canadian $ for Canadians? We end up paying 30% more. There are not many of us on the forum.

If you're talking about the membership for the CorvetteForum, this site is a U.S. run site by Internet Brands. I don't believe they are setup to work with multi-currency, only the U.S. greenback.

Charge it to your credit card and you will be converted using the daily conversion rate for that day.

Ah yes, the bank HAS to make money. So yeah you're right Mike. The conversion rate + a few extra points. You can usually find what the rates are on the bank sites.

ie:
Today's RBC Visa Rate $1U.S=$1.44CDN

But the actual BoC rate is $1U.S=$1.41CDN

So RBC is charging an extra $0.03/$1U.S

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but is it possible that BlueFinn is saying, why can't we Canadian's donate $100.00 Canadian Dollars instead of say $100.00 U.S. Dollars to get the same benefits? Since after all it's sort of a donation.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Because CF is run by Americans.

I almost bid on a St Judes auction item on the forum once, forget what, but I'd have to pay in US $ and I wouldn't get a tax receipt, as its a US charity.

The site wants $100US for their silver lifetime. Why would they take less? Money is no longer on par. And when I saw what the exchange rate was, it has me rethinking my TotD/BG trip.

We will retain our basic membership which is free.
I thought I would support the forum but not at 40 - 45% more than the American members. I guess I will wait until the $C goes up. Kind of like an investment in the future.

I am glad I bought our plane tickets for Florida (leaving Feb 12th) back in November, as the CDN dollar was much stronger then. We're staying with friends, so the only cost for the trip is going to be food and our rental car (which was only $100 for the entire trip, so it's not too much)

But we are also planning another Florida trip in December, with all 3 kids too, so that could be quite pricey if the CDN dollar does not recover (and I doubt it's going to gain much strength at all this year)

Hey Pat, If you haven't paid for your car yet. Keep checking Expedia and you get a deal paying in can$. My week in Las Vegas last month was $89.00 can up front and I use Amex to skip the insurance. The rental car site wanted $129. 00 US.

I booked the rental car already actually and looking over my paperwork it lists the balance owing on it as $122 CDN. So that's not a bad deal at all, I looked online for a long time for rental cars out of Fort Lauderdale and nothing else came even close.
