Back ... in Laguna Blue
Hi guys - Long time, no talk. Hope all's well with the old C3 crowd. I've still got my '74 vert, but I have to admit that she hasn't spent too much time out on the road these past few years. Very much a special-event car for me these days.
Some of you will remember that I traded in my black '03 Vette for a red Porsche 911 back in '08. The P-car was (is) a beautiful thing, but, in recent months I found myself hankering for that modern Vette feeling.
So, today I pulled the trigger on a 2016 Z51 L2 vert, 7-speed stick, in beautiful Laguna Blue. This car is bloody amazing, and I can't wait to pick her up from Humberview on Tuesday.
Do you guys still get together on Saturday mornings? Wouldn't mind popping around one of these days.

I remember ya. Great colour choice. Welcome back.
Chapters is gone. Not even the P-Car guys are there anymore. Haven't seen or heard about a replacement Cars and Coffee for the Chapters meets in a couple of years.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm pretty pumped about picking her up.
Sort of a funny story about how it came together. I started doing some web research about what was available on Friday morning. Not a lot of C7 verts out there. But there was this great-looking blue one at Humberview. So, I make an appointment to go out and take a test drive. I'm sitting in the car, with the top down, engine running, ready to go. And the sales manager walks out and says, "Sorry, we just sold it." So, no test drive. Crap.
Next morning, I get an email from the salesman to the effect that the earlier deal fell through. So, I head back over there, and the rest is history.

Based on a quick look over at Rennlist, it looks like they're trying out a couple of new places.

Thanks. At the moment, I'm lovin' those wheels. One of my buddies down south, when he saw the pics, commented specifically on the wheels and said "Those'll turn a few heads." I said, "Yeah, but, so far, it's all middle-aged guys and young kids!"
