Curious how the maintenance and insurance costs would differ. Keeping your car and ability to drive (anything) pretty much limits exploring the Z's performance advantage to the track, the Grand Sport's going to be a hit, fo-sho!

As far as performance both are overkill for the street.
My only point was looking at it from a price point perspective, bragging rights, coolness factor (aka the starbucks feel good effect) I'd rather have the Z06.

FWIW, my insurance on the Stingray is cheaper than my other two cars, an '08 Acura and a '10 Subaru. Sure I'm only insured for ~10K Km per yr on my Stingray, but much to my surprise the insurance has not been an issue. I suspect the GS can't be too far off the Z51 rates.

Seen 2 of them at the Corvette Coral at CTMP a few weeks back. One of them was all Black looked really nice. The other one had the Z07 package but with ugly colour scheme. I think it was Blue with red GS stripes and yellow Calipers or something. Should of taken a pic.
Would of been nice if they changed up the engine on the GS. Maybe throw in a LS7 instead of the Stingrays LT1.
Nevertheless like the C6 GSs these will sell!

I'm the opposite. I find low end torque rules on the street but I see the appeal of NA for the track.

I have a 2017 Z06 on order but dealer still has no prices for '17s. US pricing is all were seeing for now but Canadian pricing supposed to be announced in August. I know that there are supposed to be more breakdown of options. For instance in 2016, in order to get the satin black finished wheels with either yellow or red pinstripe you had to order the full suede designer package for $5700. Apparently from what I'm reading on US sites, you can order those wheels on a '17 as a stand alone option. Coloured seatbelts and coloured shift paddles are now available too.

~78k$ for a base GS
94 745$ for a base Z06
455$ for the red seat belt.
Now I hope the 18th of august will not be pushed back... Because soon I will loose my patience and go to buy a GT350.
