Florida drive.
i have my buddy asking me to drive his new Dodge pick up truck to Fl for him on the weekend, and fly back, quite a stretch for one person. even at an avg 55mph is 30 hours, wondering if anyone in gta may be intetested and we can drive down and fly back Sunday night or monday.

That is definitely a stretch for one person, as I did that drive just after Christmas! We weren't sure if my wife was insured for the rental car so I just ended up doing all of the driving. It took 18 hours the first day (stopping in Atlanta for the night) and about 10 hours the second day (our final destination was Cape Coral, which is just north of Fort Myers on the Gulf side) I went 70-75 mph as much as possible and stopped about once every 2-3 hours for food/bathroom breaks. It really is too long of a drive to do in just two days, when we do that drive again in the future we'll spread it out over 3 or 4 days, if not 5.

Longest drive for me was Atlanta to Toronto, I was done.
Worried Al that this may sound a bit like a date or a dirty long weekend.

For those of you who find the drive to Florida a little long, you may consider Auto Train From DC To Florida. Driving to washington in one day than get the car and yourself on the train. You can have a seat or for extra$$ you can have a place to sleep. It is more expensive, but you save gas, hotel and mileage on the car + you get some rest on the way.
Friends used it last year and realy liked it.

it s a long story, but, he is in toronto and can t go till next thursday and he is flying. it is father in laws truck, and he is 81 and not driving down. i am getting compensated, but not as much i think is fair, and i would like to be back for work monday, if i have to take a day off, it is not worthwhile for me.

Drifting
My neighbour who is a retired senior of many years, drives cars to Florida for a handsome fee for elderly folks who don't want to drive that far. This year he's taken about 23 cars down and is down there now bringing one back. Most he has done in one season was around 32 cars. His big advantage, due to his many years at Air Canada,he uses his pass to get home or to get down for pick ups.He gets to drive a nice variety of cars. He says it's time to cut back to 6 or so a year .Age is catching up on him.cheers:
