I've used it for about 6 months now on all my windows and there have been no ill affects. The rain just pools up a bit than disappears.
I don't think I've ever used my wipers and washers in that time and we've had plenty of rain her in Ohio.

I know people who use it on the glass top, but I don't. I just use Stone's Invisable Glass. Water seems to bead up just like the rain-x.

I didn't know that!! But all the road dust and crap the windshield is etched anyway. This must be a very subtle ething.

Are you sure about that? I've been using it for years and haven't noticed any etching.

I use NXT on the top. Water beads and runs off. Just my $.02

I thought it worked by filling in all of the microscopic imperfections thus making it too slick for water to stick.

I just wax mine too. Not really sure if Rain-X would be good for a lexan top. Maybe call the company that makes it and ask.

I put Zaino on the glass top, and Zaino and Souveran on the painted top.

I too use the rain-x for all of the other windows. I love the stuff.

Default With the Rain-X there are times when I don't need the wipers like on the freeway.

It is a beautiful sight to watch the water bead up and roll off the glass.

Rain-X etches the glass on a microscopic level. That is how it stays on the glass. If it didn't, it would just be washed off by rain.

It does wash off with rain and washings, that's why you have to reapply it ever so often. Would this mean that wax etches the paint to stay on the paint. This is the first I have ever heard of this etching theory and I've been using it on windows for many many years. Is there a way to prove the etching, what would I look for. This isn't a flame, just real curious about a product that I use alot.

I use Invisible Glass to clean, and Zaino on the top.
