Default 3M Swirl Mark Remover / Rubbing Compound

How abrasive is the 3M Swirl Mark Remover for Dark Vehicles compared to the 3M "Perfect-it II" Rubbing Compound? I have some fine scratches that might be a bit much for just the swirl remover. Any thoughts?

Perfect It II is the next highest abrasive after SMR which is the lowest. Start with SMR, if this doesn't work, move up to Perfect It. After the scratch is out, go back down to SMR to take out the fine scratches left by Perfect It. I use this combination all the time with great success with a random orbital buffer. Follow with 3M Imperial Hand Glaze or other glaze, then finish with your favorite wax/polish.

Any type of rubbing compound will always be more abrasive than a polish like the 3M Swirl Mark Remover.

the 3M perfect-it II rub, and SMR is a great combination.
look at what it did for the beat up water-spotted finish on my SUV:
