Default Z16: Clay Barring & Stripes

I am about to give my z16 its first clay bar and Zaino treatment. Now don't freak out, she is still brand new in plastic with 23 miles.

My questions is: Do you clay bar and Zaino the stripes or will it cause damage?

Clay bar is so mild, I can't imagine that it would hurt anything. I'm not a Zaino user, but I would have to believe that it would be okay on the stripes, too. I'm sure one of the Zaino-aholics will chime in and verify.

You have a brand new Z-16 with only 23 miles? Where did you find that?

Thanks for the great info! It has been sitting next to my 03 Z06 with 2k miles, and 99 with 14k miles. I know, I know... drive 'em.

I am making steps, I think the Z16 will be seeing the road shortly. It is time to let her stretch her legs.

If you need some help exercising one of those low mileage beauties, I work cheap! Nice stable of thoroughbreds you have there!

I will be sure to keep that in mind. Thanks for the offer. The tires may have a bit excess roubber on them as well. I may need someone to help with that problem as well.

Thanks for the kind words. They help the balance on the fine line of sanity and well...

Zaino won't hurt the stripes
Not sure about claybarring them, I imagine that would be ok as well

I don't mean to steal this thread, but does anyone know where I can just buy a clay bar. All the places I've found them they are always in a kit with the lubricant. All I want is the clay bar. Thanks

It's important when doing so that you go from the stripe to the hood not the other way around. If you do the stripe will shave the clay into the edge of the stripe.

Franko, quite alright! Zaino sells just the clay bar in pairs. Their web site is: www.zainobors.com
