Default Convertible Top cleaning?

I need to wash for the first time my 2006 Vert. What's the best way and solution to clean the top?
I have a black Vert top and there are some white spots on it, is that normal?

What are those white spots? Maybe lint? If so I use a lint remover roller.

This is what I am talking about and how my car was delivered to me. Look at the base of the top cover, see the white areas?

And I got a beige top that has black streaks on it. Got a top cleaner that helped somewhat. If top is dry they are harder to spot, but if wet they simply stare at me and p*ss me off. At least the top won't fly off---hopefully that is.

I have an 06 vert(blk top) and I just use car wash liquid, as for the white stuff, it looks like wax or something they left when getting the car ready for you. A little soap and water worked for me.

That's how my top looked when delivered. The dealer dried top with a towel that spread lint all over it.

Car-Topp

Also..you can simply wash it with a light brush with soapy water. I get spotting from water and simply towel them away.

303 Protectant. You can pick it up from a local boat store.

the right thing to have is raggtopp, conditioner and cleaner. It comes in a twin pack, and it will get rid of all that stuff that is on your top,,, just look it up on google.. raggtopp....

Default raggtopp

go to autogeek for the raggtopp kit with cleaner and protectant - worth the cost/effort

I like to use a shop vac to extract as much dirt, etc. from the top before washing. It would probably be good to check out something like Ragg Topp cleaner and protectant.

I usually vacuum my top, then use a lint roller( the type with sticky tape)
I only wash it when absolutely necessary and when I do I use only Raggtopp cleaner or Aerospace 303 cleaner.
Once it is dry ( 48 hours) then I use either Raggtopp protectant or Aerospace 303 protectant.
You want to wait until the top is DRY otherwise you can get mold and mildew growing in the top fabric underneath the protectant.

Raggtopp can be ordered on line from CF vendor http://www.propercarcare.com/

Aerospace 303 products can be found on line or at major Autoparts stores.
