Default Zaino or Ice

I have been using the new Ice from Turtle Wax. Amazing stuff, no white powder, can do whole car at once, in less than 45 min. There are some tricks to make it go fast. Instead of polishing the car once months apart I do this about every third car wash, but this is not necessary it lasts for months.

I have never used ICE and never will, too many bad reports from alot of experienced detailers. The issues that most are having with it are: lack of durability and a very oily appearance that lasts at best 2-3 washes.

If it is not a wax - then what is it - what does it do? I have read several posts that refer to it as a clear bra alternative????

Zaino refers to itself as a polish, but it is in fact a sealant. It protects the paint similar to a wax, except it lasts much longer.

There is no wax or sealant that can perform the same function as a clear bra.

yes. to elaborate - your wax is you protective coating that fills in some fine scratches, and gives the paint added gloss. Waxes by definition are based on carnauba wax - some gooey stuff from a tree in Peru I believe.

Sure, waxes look great, but they only last a couple of weeks. In the past two decades, they've pretty much been replaced by synthetic sealants -- which perform the same functions as wax, but they contain NO carnauba, and therefore are not "waxes".

With a good synthetic product like Zaino, you'll never go back to waxing again. Doesn't matter how hot it gets outside, the Zaino will no melt off the car like a wax will. You'll only have to apply it 2 or 3 times a year.

I did a "review" on ICE for clublexus; TW sent me a couple samples for some reason and you're right, the durability was terrible. The actual product itself was fine I guess, easy to use, dressed trim, looked ok - I have a feeling it has a ton of silicone in it to aid ease of use; but no matter what I used it on I never got more than 16 days out of it. I've got 3 bottles sitting downstairs that I will probably never use. :/
