Default IBIZ Wax

I was at the Phila. car show this week and a vendor was selling a wax product called IBIZ. He had the Corvette logo over his stand. Has anyone used this product and how were the results using this product. I informed him that I use Zaino and how did it compare? His reply was his product was just as good but applied in half the time. Any opinions out there? Leif

Haha...Ibiz gets very little to no talk on any detailing forum. That should tell you how good it is.

IBIZ is the "official wax of Corvette Club of America" That's why you saw the Corvette logo.

I appreciate you asking him about Zaino and providing his response here.

I'm sure the salesman was well aware how the products compare. (Subjectively and objectively)

I went on a Tuesday night which is one of the slowest nights, so he did not have a large enough crowd to do the flame test. He did try to talk me into trying it short of giving the product away. I will stay with Zaino. On another note a guy at work drives a Mustang and swears my IBIZ.

Ahh...the flame test!
You can put lighter fluid on your hand, light it and it will cause no burns if flame is extinguished pretty quickly.

I used that years ago and thought it was OK. You actually buff it off before it dries. Many superior products out there now.

That guy is kind of a snake oil salesman. I was at the NCRS Orlando meet two winters ago. When I told him I prefer Zaino, he said that Zaino will damage your paint . I just laughed and walked away.

Basically, the flame test just lasts long enough to burn off the coat of IBIZ. After that, it will be burning the paint. While I think the product may be good, this kind on marketing gimmick brings skepticism from the consumers, more than it helps convincing them it's a good product.

Leif -

One thing I've found out over the years is that no single product is right for everyone. Ibiz may be great for the guy you work with, while Zaino is perfect for you.

It sort of reminds me of my ex-wife. While after a few years I couldn't stand her, her current husband thinks she's great. I guess in a few years he may feel the same way that I did though.

IMHO all it is is a Dog and Pony Show. If the product was half as good as his gimmick, well it would still suck.

I always wanted to bring a little gasoline and ask if "I" could set the hood on fire with "my" fluid. As far as the spray paint goes you can do that on any cars paint. It also shows how much solvent that product contains.
