Cleaning Exhaust Tips
Cleaning the Corvette today, what's new, and always had a problem getting the exhaust tips shiny and clean. As I was struggling with a light compound to get the crud off, a thought came to mind. We clean our aluminum cookware with a product called "Bar Keeper's Friend". Makes the pots and pans shine like new. Got some, tried it and it works like a charm.
I sprinkle some on a green pad, moisten it and rub it into the pad a bit, and wipe the exhaust tips. I will post some pics when I get my camera's battery charged.
Try it, you'll like it!!

Bar keepers friend is a very good tip and product to remove soot and deposits It will do nothing to polish them or any other part of the exhaust system. that is what the other $42.99 buys ya

Wow, very interesting, Bar Keepers Friend.
I used SS polish on my B&B tips for a while and then one day I sprayed a little STP carburetor cleaner (in a silver can) on a rag and with no effort all the black came right off. It doesn't take the place of polish but it's perfect for just cleaning. There is no reason to polish them every time. I do it before I wash the car.

I agree with CC Dawg re the cost comparison to Pipedreams kit. It all depends on what level of time and $ you wish to invest on your tips. I do wish on his before/after comparison Pipe would use the same vehicle, as I'm sure his yellow car has never been allowed to get as bad as the 'before' tips that are posted. Not implying it doesn't work, but using the same car would promote more credibility.

What would make you believe they are not the same car? Your 100% correct not mine but the same friends car. I do this for many friends customers that stop by my house for free. Maybe a few customers posts are more "credible" for you.

I appreciate your honesty; just confirming for my own benefit that they were not in fact the same vehicle. The polishing kit is likely everything you say it is, just not what I am looking for on my vehicle. I prefer a clean, but more natural look rather than the highly polished.

These Pipedreams did not do. I did. Those tips were like that after one drive to Captree and back. They were washed before I left so figure about 100miles. Look at the shine on the yellow vett and look at the shine on these. I am learning that cleaning and polishing are two different things.

Pipedreams,
I am well versed with stainless steel and there are only two ways to make it shiny, either electro polish or buffing. I would like to challenge you to send me a sample to compare with other products I have because I don't think your product is the hocus-pokus of SS. PM me and I'll send you my address.
