Zoop Seal? Anyone Use It?
Hey Guys,
My dad has a set of polished rims on his Vert ... and polishing them can take upto 3-4 hours every few months ...
I just ran across this stuff? http://www.zoops.com/zoopseal.asp
Anyone Use it? Is it ? Does it really work??? Just looking for CF's opinion ...

I have used it on some Iforged wheels I had on a 350Z. It seemed to work very well. Never oxidized, however you do have to do some polishing to keep the luster up. The full kit comes with zoop polish that works great and claims to not harm the zoopseal coating. I went from spending every weekend polishing my wheels to about once every 6-8 weeks. If I still had non-cleared polished wheels, I would use it again. Also the full kit has enough to do about 8 sets of wheels.

Not at all. Comes with a cleaner and then you mix 2 bottles together and wipe on. Used to be clear so I guess it still is. Once you mix 2 parts it's time sensitive, 2 weeks I believe..then you trash it.

It's kind of like a "Wax" for your wheels ... but different as it prevents Raw Aluminum from Oxidizing. Oxidation is what makes Raw Aluminum Polished wheels look bad over time.
While this stuff doesn't prevent it forever ... I hear it slows the process a lot ... which to me is cool.

ZoopSeal™ (Zoops Products Inc) is a three-part metal cleaning system that comprises:
1. Zoopseal™ (A & B)
2. Zoopseal™ Cleaner
3. Zoops™ Final Seal One of the inherent problems with some polymers is that that they tend to yellow (occlude) especially if you 'layer' them, I've found Zoopseal to be both a durable and non-yellowing polymer.

Do a search, it has been talked about before.
Basically you are better off using Simichrome or Mothers Billet and then throwing a coat of Zaino Z2p on them every once in a while.

I've been using Zoops Seal on many polished parts especially those that we can't or don't want to chrome. I searched for something to protect the parts and avoid having to go back to polish frequently. I tried clear powder-coat, POR-15 Glisten and something new called Chrome FX. But each had their drawbacks especially toning down the shine.
Zoops was the last product I tried and I really like how it works. It's only a protectant so the part has to be fully polished before applying it. I usually use Mother's Billet polish as a final polish. Then it's a matter of cleaning the part with their cleaner and rinsing with distilled water. Then the two-part sealant is mixed and applied. I let it dry overnight and follow with their "Final Sealer". It leaves a completely clear coating and is supposed to be non-yellowing. You don't use much of the product and it will go a long way.
What I can't speak to at this point is how long it lasts. The owner told me up to two years but that likely depends on conditions. Once mixed he told me the sealant mixture will last up to six months if refrigerated. Just make sure not to use it in place of your usual salad dressing.....
